Location and staff was excellent. Breakfast OK. Parking OK. Cleanliness in the room was poor. Ie stains on the carpet, pull cord switch filty, thick dust on the spells of the chair. Bucket chair leader worn out.

Mostly a very enjoyable stay. It was a shame the bins in my room had not been emptied and the shower tray was not draining efficiently. Other guests had no hot water. The showers need replacing they are very dated and inefficient. Hotel staff lovely and nice atmosphere. Food was great

Unfortunately the carpet in the bedroom was very badly stained, shower wasn't very good water splashed everywhere, curtains let to much light in woke early hour's. The bed was extremely comfortable, nice soft bedding. Ate in the restaurant twice, meals were excellent, food very tasty and plentiful, service was very good.

Absolutely lovely staff. Room was very good, excellent bathroom, storage space and comfortable bed. Only two areas for improvement: my room was above the bar and the music was a bit annoying, it was the sort of dance pop music you get in supermarkets. Disappointing that it was playing throughout the public areas downstairs, including the restaurant. I like music and have no problem with it! But it was just the wrong music to enjoy dinner with. The other area for improvement is the breakfast arrangement. I don't mind a buffet but it would have been better if coffee was served to order, not left in an insulated jug so only just warm enough. Apart from the music and the coffee at breakfast I was very happy with my stay.

Excellent food at breakfast and evening meals, in fact my son-in-law, and my two grandchildren that had a meal with us on our first night, said it was the largest plate of quality food he's had! I must agree and like many of us in the restaurant, couldn't finish the meal, and I can tell you now, that it is not very often for my son-in-law! Staff are amazing and very helpful, they work very hard to please the guests, and they succeed. I don't have many gripes, what I fo are minor. Decor in some areas can be a bit tired, but it is clean. Same for rooms, tidy, clean, and the one we had was spacious, the mattress was a bit firm for us but that's our choice. The room we had looked over the spacious car park, and even with windows closed, there was some road noise, and people talking loudly below us where smokers go out, this was not too bad and wasn't for long periods. The light in the car park is very bright, obviously for security and safety reasons, this, even with the curtains closed still lit up our room, this light went off at midnight. Overall though, it's a lovely place to stay, and near enough to the town and beach to walk.

Stayed at The Royal Hotel in Mundesly(its not Norwich at all) for three nights over the August Bank Holiday. We cannot praise it enough. The staff were excellent. We witnessed customer care that went above the norm. We would name Will, attentive, friendly and efficient in the bar and restaurant area. The chef, Nita, who looked after breakfast and the restaurant. We witnessed her offer to fetch an elderly guest toast despite being very busy. She interacted with everyone whilst cooking, clearing and serving all with a friendly smile. We saw with a lot of the staff, the excellent Sunday carvery, thete were staff on the floor helping everyone with their meals. Unable to name them all but thete was, I think, two Emma's who were engaging with customers. It was so nice to see. The food was excellent, the aforementioned carvery, the breakfasts and we have to mention our Ssturday night meal...they have a Thai menu, I believe cooked by Nita. It was fabulous. Plentiful fresh and tasty and, again served by some well trained young staff. Our room was clean The bed large and conformable and an excellent shower. We like a short break to supplement our foreign holidays each year and we are pretty certain we will be returning here.
