The COVID-19 pandemic has led to huge changes to the way we travel. If you're planning a vacation in Northern Quebec, these tips will help you navigate travel's newest challenges:

• Investigate what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check before you lock something in.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Travelers who refuse to wear a face mask may be denied entry or boarding.
• Instead of handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag and presented for screening.
• To minimize handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
