"The lobby is ok upon arrival. But our room had a terrible feeling to it. It smelled like it had been smoked in for years. And there was splatter marks on the curtains that looked like blood or sauce. Just an over all bad experience. Our bedding had weird marks on it too. You get what you pay for. This was a hotel our team chose so wouldn’t have been our first choice if it was up to us."

"Very accommodating for my late arrival. Stayed twice this week. Both rooms were spacious and clean. Could use some artwork and full length mirror. Price was great! Easy to access. Ample parking. Would definitely book there again."

"The room in stayed in was terrible. I was on a work trip amd had meeting and presentations the next day, and to my surprise none of the charging ports in my room were working and upon complaining to the front desk no one even came to fix those. The front desk staff was not emphatic at all and didn’t show any excitement to resolve the issue. Never recommending this place to anyone as the amenities are very very old and are not maintained. "

"You can tell the ownership cares about the place and is trying to make a good go of it buy they certainly have challenges. It was a big old school full-service hotel from different times so it is a lot of square footage to maintain. The lobby and rooms are very clean but it is getting dated - and the price reflects that. The room was spacious but it has a 32" TV with no HD signal. Watching hockey was not good. This hotel used to have a big restaurant that probably made decent money. Now, it is the breakfast space and it is an ok breakfast. I did not have a chance to check out the pool. The biggest drawback is the location. I had not been in the Soo in a few years. That area was maybe a bit rough but it is worse. There was absolutely nothing open down there on a Sunday night. It is a low-income area and there are a lot of very sketchy characters on the streets. I was quite concerned about my vehicle.and brought a lot of stuff up to my room. Everything in the Soo is up and down Great Northern Rd. We had to go up there to eat and should have just stayed in a hotel there for the extra money. It proves to me that a city cannot revitalize their downtown by simply building a shiny new arena there. I feel for these owners and appreciate their It is not a bad hotel but I don't know if I would stay there again."
