The cabin, situated on a peaceful lake and in a fairy-woodland, gently persuades one to thoroughly release every stress. The cabin itself is well-stocked and smells of fresh pine. "The directions provided by the owner were very accurate and helpful. The lot was beautiful with a firepit and a very short walk to the dock, where clear water awaited. I did have some issues, though, which would've been mitigated with some additional information. There is running water but the smell of sulfur was overwhelming. It was not drinkable..bring lots of water. Showers are not really able to be taken as the smell makes your eyes water. Mice were an issue, BUT, it is a wood cabin. Keep all food secured and wash and store your dishes, as I was woken the first night by the ting ting of the mouse eating chicken alfredo from a rattling fork (while standing 2 inches from the "rodent control sound device"). That being said I moved a pillow in the couch and there was a large amount of mouse poop under there...indicating it wasnt cleaned or vacuumed. The code for the lock worked, but I the keys or the mechanism wouldnt allow the lock device to open to give me the keys. Luckily there was someone with tools down the road to assist. The lockbox for the keys wouldnt lock when I left. The canoe was unable to be used due to holes and the rowboat is too unwieldy and heavy for one person to get that out into the water, so one of the major reasons I booked the area, to fish using a canoe/boat, was unable to be realized. Overall, the place would've been better had the listing been a bit more forthcoming with the information presented BUT was a beatiful place. "

"Our stay at the rustic cabin on East Grand Lake was wonderful. The 26-acre private island provided a unique and peaceful escape. The lake's incredibly clear water made swimming and floating a true pleasure. Our dogs loved exploring the island, running around, and playing in the lake. The propane stove, refrigerator, and charcoal grill worked perfectly for all our cooking needs, offering the right balance of convenience while maintaining the rustic feel. The island allowed us to fully relax and unwind. Built in 1907, the cabin had a lot of character with refinished floors, skylights, and off-the-grid lighting. Pete, our host, was very friendly and communicative, and his assistance with transportation to and from the island, as well as help with our gear, made our stay easy and enjoyable. One unexpected benefit was the limited cell phone reception, perfect for disconnecting and truly relaxing though may pose an issue if you need to stay fully connected to the internet. In summary, the cabin on East Grand Lake is a great place for a peaceful and charming getaway. Whether you're looking to fish, swim, kayak/canoe, or just relax, it offers everything you need. We left feeling refreshed and would certainly return."

"My husband, I and our dogs spent a week. Wish the weather had been better. Everything we needed was provided. Very private. Our dogs didn’t want to leave. Had dinner at nearby Nook & Cranny every night. Excellent food, lots of choices. Irving had a great breakfast restaurant. Everything is within 10 minutes."
