Wonderful old cottage nicely renovated with all the mod cons set on a working farm in a beautiful setting. Quiet and private, in easy walking distance to waterfalls.
Delicious home made almond croissants provided by our host Alison was a perfect final breakfast to top off our stay.
A beautiful home to stay in Cosy,Clean & Comfortable.
Every thing you need to survive for a couple of days without having to rush out to the shops, but take some drinking water with you.Alison herself is a very kind and generous host and very easy to communicate with. All four of us said we would stay there again.
Alison was such a kind and generous host. The cottage was a perfect country break that was peaceful and homely. The cottage had everything we needed and was a good base to explore cradle mountain from. We picnicked in the yard overlooking mountain ranges, and my girls loved exploring the area and finding all sorts of animals. Would happily recommend Buttons Cottage for a quiet stay to help life slow down and connect with family.
Alison is a warm and generous host. She has thought of everything you may need during your stay (including warm slippers and umbrellas).
Buttons Cottage is magical, cosy and a delight in every way. We enjoyed day trips around the area, including Ulverstone and Wynyard. Do yourself a favour and come down for air.
Well maintained & fitted out farmhouse 30-40 mins to Ulverston and Devonport. Friendly & welcoming host who was adaptable & responsive to our last minute check in time change! We had a power outage during our stay & Alison was quick to try & smooth out the challenges that created on a rural property. Thank you
Beautiful quiet country setting- loved the sheep & cattle in the back yard- Alison is a wonderful hostess- she even made us homemade croissants- The best I’ve ever had- she shared her recipe- I hope mine turn out half as good as hers! The cottage was very clean- loved the linen sheets- so much attention to detail- loved visiting with Alison- I wish it wasn’t so far away- I’d definitely be back- ❤️
Button's cottage is a true hidden gem. At first you may think you're going the wrong way to reach the property, especially the gravel road at the end, but once the forest opens up to the 500 acres of Gaunt's Homestead, with rolling hills, bubbling brooks, waterfalls and platypuses, it will all make sense. Even though the actual cottage is from 1886, it has been well restored and the bathroom in particular is very modern. Great amenities and touches through the house. Highly recommended and Alison is a wonderful host!

Property was very clean, neat and well appointed. Really appreciated the extras like breakfast items, luxury towels, linens and toiletries. The property had a quite relaxing vibe.
Owner was attentive and receptive, quickly addressing a couple of issues that arose.
Expedia displayed this property during a search filter including a fireplace, however, there is no fireplace. Heating is electric/air conditioning.
This property is perfect in every way. If you want a unique experience with exceptional hosts this is the place for you. There is plenty to do on the property plus so many things to see and do within a short drive.
Great homely cottage equipped with everything we needed! Really enjoyed the farm animal feeding experience, we were made to feel welcome and part of the farm for the morning! Highly recommend.

Home away from home. Cute comfy rural cottage with everything you need. Alison is so welcoming. Definitely would stay again.
Button's cottage is a lovely place to stay and use as a base to explore Tasmania's northern coast and inland. The cottage it's self was immaculate and well appointed and the host, Allison, was very welcoming and helpful. We literally could not have asked for more.

Lovely place with lots of extra touches
We spent 3 lovely nights at Button's Cottage. It is even more delightful than it looks in the pictures. We were there with kids who delighted in the chance to hand feed some young lambs - but we hope to be back for some grown up only time one day as it is a beautiful peaceful space. Great hospitality too - lots of little touches like home-baked treats in the kitchen and beautiful linens. Plus the owners have mastered the art of being welcoming while still giving you all the privacy you need.
Alison has a delightful little cottage with comfortable beds (my most important thing) and all amenities including a lovely sunroom where we whittled away the hours disengaging from technology and playing card/board games. A great way to unwind.
Alison was very friendly and extremely accommodating which was greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much Alison.
Unforgettable Rustic Retreat: Get away from the chaos and reconnect with your loved ones
My family and I recently stayed at this lovely cottage, which was built in 1886, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The property has a rustic and timeless feel to it that transported us back in time. Buttons Cottage was spacious and comfortable, and my wife and our two teenage daughters adored its rustic charm. Jedi, our family dog, also enjoyed the freedom of the property and had a great time exploring the surrounding land. The location was remote and peaceful, allowing us to truly disconnect and relax from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our host was extremely accommodating, helpful, and always willing to answer any questions we had. "We would strongly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful and rustic retreat."
We loved our stay in Buttons Cottage, beautifully renovated but still retaining the historic flavour of the cottage.
A peaceful and relaxed stay in the countryside, with the added interest of a working sheep farm next door.
Alison was a perfect host, ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Lovely well set up cottage. Everything you need here. We were lucky enough to take our small dog and what a lovely location it is for walking. Lucky for us it was also lambing time and we got to pat so many of them. Alison is a welcoming host and I must recommend Kaydale Gardens (3kms away) which is dog friendly and makes the best cakes too.
Something for every season at Buttons cottage.
