Great value for money

Very friendly lady at the counter. We travelled to Newcastle recently for the Great North Run. The lady (I am so sorry for not remembering her name) had plenty of suggestions about how to get to the venue. She even let us keep the car parked after our check out. The location is very good as well. Buses and Metro available within a short walking distance. Great value for money!

Staff try their best. Rooms are dated and worn out. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Check out was early 10 am. Carpark is great, links to Newcastle via metro and bus is good. Formula one hotel was it's old name ( french I think) basic but dated.

Excellent place to stay

Love staying here, staff are really friendly and accommodating. Rooms are incredibly comfy. Decent amenities including kitchen to make coffees etc Toby carvery/pub and B&M next door too and only small walk to Metro.

Staff very helpful and accommodating. Arrived exhausted and consequently had a good nights sleep. Lovely hot shower. Good value for money

Metro inn review

Staff are lovely & welcoming Stayed a few times now although last time. I stayed in room 109 it wasn’t very warm through the night although all other rooms I’ve stayed in have been nice and warm not sure what the cause was

Cheap, basic and near the airport

I booked here because I needed to be near the airport and it was cheap. The hotel has a large car park plenty of spaces. Rooms are not en-suite and it was quite a walk to the toilet. Bed was comfortable room was quite depressing and tired and very basic. Not a pleasant experience

The location was good and thats about as good as it got. The room is very very basic with no kettle in the room. The bed was shocking it was clean but very lumpy due to the springs being gone.would i stay here again NOT A CHANCE.

Great value for money

I will get the only negative thing out of the way, you don't have a toilet/ shower in your room. they are shared facility at the start of the corridor. First time in years I have not had en-suite, it wasn't the end of the world but it was a bit strange. The room was very clean as was all the public spaces, it looks as if has just been done up. The bed was comfortable and there was a bit of space in the room. It is next to a Toby pub, so we went there for dinner and for breakfast. It is very near to a Metro station so easy to get about. A good place to leave your bag and to rest your head once you have had a night out in Newcastle.

As expected

Metro Inns are a ultra budget chain so you get what you pay for... a safe room to sleep/be awake in... no ensuite but communal separate shower rooms and toilets that are clean and presentable The Newcastle site appeals to people who are headed to the nearby airport so it was not a surprise to have my door banged on at 4am in the morning by a group of drunken Geordie tw@ts informing me they were going to Cypress... as they did this for all the guests in my corridor, I did not feel singled out. Rooms are tired, and, despite being "non smoking" they smelled of past residents smoking, smelled damp. Bed sheets and provided towels well laundered and clean Will stay there again but not for the faint hearted but cheap and very convenient- breakfast at nearby McDonald's at 5am
