YHA Newcastle Beach
1.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (92)
"The location is excellent. It's close by to the light rail station and bus stop. It's also close to the beach! Plenty of dining option nearby. The facilities are also great. I especially like the lounge area. Most importantly, I feel safe staying there as a solo female traveller. Feedback: The pillow case and the blanket in my single room has stains on them. "

Backpackers Newcastle
2.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (14)
"Far too many long-term residents and they are very chummy with the staff. Up yelling and screaming in the common room, calling indoors without meaningful comments from staff. I felt like we were guests in THEIR house. No secure storage in the dorms. Eva at the front desk was great with local suggestions."

Jesmond Executive Villas

7.6 out of 10, Good, (1753)
"It was pouring rain and we had to park a fair way from our unit. Bathroom had mould on the ceiling and I could write my name on the bedside table and lamp. Decor was very good and in spite of this I would probably stay there or in the same accommodation again. Much less stressful than a small motel room. "

"The apartment was spacious and comfortable and the bed was excellent. We did find the TV awkward and not really designed for overseas visitors as apps like Netflix often don't transfer. "
