On a business trip to Houston, got stuck in Newark for the night. Thought it'd be a good idea to find an older hotel with a haunted history to stay at. Thought it'd be fun. Uh uh! It was scary, alright, but the wrong kind of scary! Our Uber driver said to us "be careful!". That should've been a clue! As we walked toward the door, a man smashed a bottle on the sidwalk in front of the entrance. Walked in the door, and found a line of at least ten people. Why? I assume, that since it was about 8:30pm, these people needed to check in before 9:00. They all turned around and looked us up and down like fresh meat. The lobby looked like a Salvation Army, only not as clean, and not for a good cause! We turned around and didn't even check in. Luckily, there's a McDonalds down the street, that the nice police woman locked us into while we ate and waited for an Uber to take us to Marriott. If we weren't dressed in bright red and yellow camouflage, we might not be alive today! I have no idea how this place is listed on Expedia. They have more murders there a year than rooms for rent. Choose wisely, choose anywhere else!
