The staff in the hotel bar/restaurant was the best! I had two rooms and for each room, we could either have 2 drink tickets a room or 1 breakfast a room. My sister and I chose the drink tickets but also traded in for breakfast b/c we couldn't drink that much (not for lack of trying). Anyway, we got to know the bar staff really well and got to talk with Naville, the restaurant manager. This was the week b/f New Years, and these folks were working so hard but also taking time to talk with us. Katelyn, one of the super nice bar waitresses, worked the NYE shift and then worked the morning breakfast shift. Naville, the manager, also worked double shifts but still managed to be helpful and so friendly. I hope the hotel recognizes its staff as the best hotel feature!
Other positives include the hotel's safe area, with lots of restaurants and only a block or so from Grand Central Station. Super easy access to subways.
The one downside was the elevator policy of only 4 people or 1 family per car. For a hotel with 40 rooms, this was just not possible during busier times. I understand the safety issues related to Covid, but it seems there has to be some adjustment with perhaps some elevators only servicing certain floors.
