Most people don’t go to Manhattan to sit in their hotel room, so this hotel offered great amenities and even better location to all of the action in this area

We really enjoyed our week’s stay. Our room was clean, the breakfast bagels and muffins were fresh, we added hard boiled eggs from the wonderful nearby Westside market and kept them in our refrigerator. It’s well-located, very close to a subway station. The only problem we had was the hard mattress but we asked for an extra comforter and folded it a few times for some extra padding and we slept comfortably.

For the most part the hotel is reasonably clean and maintained, a bit worn. Our concern was that coming home at midnight the front door did not require a card key, the front desk person did not acknowledge our entrance, and the elecvator was not secured with a card key pass. The room did not have a double lock. Frankly this was surprising and I cannot recall a recent hotel stay that did not have these things in place.
