Walk to downtown New Hope

Most Romantic Storybook Setting. You will think you've just walked into a scene from of a Harry Potter movie.
Note: Please do not ask about (One-Night-Stays, Pets or Wedding). This cottage listing was just uploaded and added to our other listing that we've had here since 2010.
"Walk to New Hope!"
Situated on one of Bucks County's most fabled properties in the historic hamlet of Phillips' Mill, PA and just 1 & 1/2 miles from downtown New Hope, PA. sits this storybook little English Village. Renowned architect, painter, wood worker, and iron worker, Morgan Colt built this extraordinary village at the turn of the 20th century to be his residence.
Located in the middle of Gothic English Village is your romantic one bedroom cottage. As you walk through the village property, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time and you're now in England 900 years ago. The "Herringbone Cottage" has a studio living space with a Living Room and Dining area at one end and a Bedroom area at the other end (all fresh bed linens are provided for you). You have an updated galley Kitchen (small). Kitchen is stocked with all pots, pans and cooking utensils and coffee for the Keurig coffee maker, 4 burner stove. microwave, frig. Full Bathroom that comes complete with fresh towels... for your stay.
Relax And Enjoy: Many enchanted garden areas on the property where you can sit and enjoy the sites and sounds of this magical little village. The New Hope area has loads of great restaurants, art galleries, museums, antique stores, wineries, live music , theater and cabarets, boat rides, old steam engine train rides and fantastic shopping... Note: Please don't inquire about one night stays.)

If you don't feel like cooking dinner, just walk out your door, down the village walkway, through the beautiful garden courtyard and through the large Medieval iron gates, where you will come upon The Inn at Phillip's Mill, also built by Morgan Colt and arguably 'the most romantic restaurant in all of Bucks County' (For weekend dining) you should call ahead for reservations. Note: Once you have booked your stay at "Herringbone Cottage," we will provide you with an information packet about your stay that will also contain the restaurant's reservation phone number.

Secluded Yet So Close To So Much: This is a great location aprox 1 mile north of downtown New Hope, and Lambertville which are famous for their numerous fine art galleries, museums, wineries, great shopping destinations, antique stores, polo matches, great restaurants, boat rides, walking trails, bike trails, live music and live theater at the famous Bucks County Playhouse...

Another high point of staying here is that our "little village" sits on the banks of the beautiful Delaware Canal which gives you instant access to the canal towpath where you can walk, or ride your bikes (1 mile) to historic downtown New Hope, PA, Lambertville or Stockton, NJ. The Herringbone Cottage has private off-street parking and is available all year round so you can make this your new home away from home. (Note: Sorry but we absolutely can't do one night stays)

The Herringbone Cottage is perfect for weekend getaways, week long vacations or temporary lodging and can comfortably accommodate two people. Extended stays, include weekly house cleaning services.

Great historical cottages!
My husband and I truly enjoyed staying at this cottage! The communication was excellent, Eleanor and Kurt kept up to date Communications with us as well as helping us find their cottage since it's off the beaten path. They have a Keurig machine with k-cups, some tea options, sugar and creamers. We were very grateful for that! Curt took us on a tour of the property and told us about the history when we first got there and it was kind of amazing. The bed was comfortable, the room was nice and clean, and we highly recommend staying here. The only very small issue that we had was the bathroom had some mold or mildew in the nooks and crannies. They may want to take care of that. Other than that we highly recommend staying here.

Hidden Gem English Cottage
Charming English Gothic Cottage in New Hope, PA. Lovely town . There are steps. Rooms are small but cozy. I don’t suggest this unit for tall or large individuals. We enjoyed it though. The owners are very nice and accommodating.

A Cozy ~ Steeped in History ~ Get Away
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Eleanor and Kurt were lovely and attentive in introducing us to the area and giving us a history of the quaint village. It is quite a fascinating story. We were very comfortable in our sweet fairy tale house. You could almost feel the energy of the former artists that graced the property. We enjoyed excellent dining (thanks to Kurt's recommendations), had a charming walk into New Hope along the Towpath, and explored many historic areas. We will definitely look forward to returning.

2nd time here, last time we were in the Gothic cottage and loved it. This time we were in the Herringbone cottage, also loved it. Eleanor and Kurt are awesome they treated us like family members they liked, LOL. We're planning to go again for the winter before Xmas time. Peddler Village and the town of New Hope, Pa and NJ are a must to visit, lots of shopping, food and things to see. Do not miss out on this place

Very charming cottage setting, adjacent to the towpath into New Hope.
We had an amazing time at this “English Village” in New Hope! Accommodations were very quaint, clean, and well appointed. We loved being so close to town, however not directly “in” town. We brought our bikes so we were able to bike 10 minutes into town, and then secure the bikes at the train station. Hosts were very accommodating and obviously take great pride in the property and its ongoing rebirth as an art colony. We will be back!
