About this property
Lakefront · Swim Cove · Boat Ramp right next door! · Pool & Hot Tub & Firepit
Jump in the cove! Your family or friends, one lake house, and a private swimming cove just fifty steps out the back door — that's what sets this place apart. Mornings start with coffee on the tri-level deck as the Hill Country wakes up around you. Afternoons drift by in the stock-tank pool or a kayak paddled to the water. Nights belong to the hot tub under a sky full of stars, the fire pit crackling, the tiki bar open. This is Canyon Lake the way it should be lived — together and unhurried.
The space THE COVE The Army Corps permits no private docks or boathouses anywhere on Canyon Lake, so every house here solves water access some other way — usually a long, steep bluff trail. Ours is about fifty steps down: a short path, rocky and uneven in spots, with a gradual grade coming back up. Wear water shoes and it's a trip you'll make four times a day. At the bottom is a sheltered cove — calm, out of the boat traffic and the open-lake chop, and deep enough to swim a few strides out. Two sit-on-top kayaks live in the yard; carry them down and you're on open water in a minute. The cove is public water, and a public boat ramp sits directly next door.

THE DECKS Three levels, each doing a different job. Lower: handmade stone fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs, a stock-tank cocktail pool open all year, sun loungers, disc-golf basket. Middle: the hot tub, jets on, hills going pink. Upper: a covered tiki bar with its own TV for the game, and a gas grill. These are well-used, weathered decks — built for wet swimsuits and bare feet.
INSIDE The great room runs open under a vaulted ceiling: limestone wood-burning fireplace, oversized leather sectional, a long table that seats the group, kitchen on the same sightline so the cook is never exiled. Full-size stove and oven, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker, wine glasses, second fridge in the laundry, margarita machine on the counter. When the weather turns: a regulation LED foosball table, a Super Nintendo Classic with 30 games in a built-in nook, board games and Roku TVs. Gray sky, off-season weekend — the house still works.
SLEEPING (15 guests, 10 beds, 3 full baths) - Bedroom 1: queen, private TV, ensuite bath with soaking tub and walk-in shower. - Bedroom 2: two bunk sets plus an arched alcove with the video-game nook. - Bedroom 3: queen plus a full-over-queen bunk — one family, one room. - Bonus nook: an open trundle/daybed alcove off Bedroom 2 — no door, so we call it bonus space, not a fourth bedroom. - Living room: huge, comfy sectional sofa Washer and dryer on site, so you can pack for three days and stay a week.
LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY You're between Startzville and Sattler on Canyon Lake, in the middle of the Texas Hill Country — quiet neighborhood, live music and river towns a short drive. - Private swimming cove — about 50 steps out the back door - Public boat ramp — directly next door - Canyon Lake dam, Overlook Park and the Gorge — 10-15 minutes - Whitewater Amphitheater, riverside concerts — about 10 minutes - Guadalupe River tubing outfitters — about 15 minutes - Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas — about 20 minutes - Downtown New Braunfels shops and restaurants — about 25 minutes - Schlitterbahn Waterpark — about 30 minutes - Hill Country wineries toward Fredericksburg — 20-40 min - San Antonio, the Alamo and the River Walk — about 55 minutes Groceries, gas and coffee are minutes away in either direction.
WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR - Multi-generational families. The cove is the reason. Grandparents who won't do a bluff trail and kids who can't swim yet can both be in the water, in sight of each other. - Reunions and groups up to 15. One long table, one great room, one deck stack — nobody splits across two houses. - Friend groups who want the lake, not the drive to it. Kayaks, cove, pool, hot tub, tiki bar, fire pit and grill — nobody moves a car from Friday night to Sunday. - Cool-weather and off-season stays. Wood-burning fireplace, hot tub, fire pit, foosball and a stocked kitchen make December and February weekends work even when nobody swims. - Remote work with a long weekend attached. Wifi and a dedicated workspace, cove at five.
Guest access You'll have the entire property to yourselves — every bedroom, the full kitchen and living space, all three bathrooms, the laundry, and the whole multi-level deck with the hot tub, pool, tiki bar, fire pit, and cove access. The only off-limits space is the garage. Check-in is contactless with your own keypad code, so you arrive after 4:00 PM on your own schedule. Keep in mind the home has multiple levels and stairs (including the walk down to the cove), so it's best for guests comfortable on steps.
PARKING Parking is free and plentiful — a rare luxury for a lake house this size. The driveways hold four or more vehicles right on the property, so bring the whole caravan without shuffling cars or paying for a spot. Free street parking is also available nearby for bigger groups arriving with boats or trailers. No passes or permits to arrange — just pull in, unload, and start your weekend.
Other things to note HOUSE RULES We keep it simple so everyone relaxes: • Check-in after 4:00 PM, check-out before 11:00 AM. • This is a family home in a quiet lakeside neighborhood — not a party house. Events and loud late-night gatherings aren't a fit. • Maximum of 15 guests; the reservation count is the count we can host. • If anyone in your group is under 30, please message before booking — we happily host respectful groups. • The home has stairs and multiple levels — please supervise children near the water, hot tub, and pool. • For insurance reasons, floats and inflatables aren't provided. Swim at your own risk. • No smoking indoors. Reach out anytime — your Superhost is nearby.

House was clean and spacious. I would recommend staying. House was well stocked with necessities, hot tub and pool were clean. Kyle was a great host and very available.
This was a great chill weekend. Kyle is great and answers fast and resolves whatever is needed. Hot tub is great, fire pit is wonderful. Overall we were just really happy. We got to sit in The hot tub and watch the stars, and just hang out with extended family. This is a great choice for a two family getaway as the house is set up perfectly. We really enjoyed the stay!
We loved this home.. Everything about it was just perfect.. they actually have everything you could need in the kitchen as well as an towels and pillows/blankets.. Air was always cool. The walk to the lake was not as the picture would make you think.. Its a little further but out of all of our lake homes in the past - it wasnt bad at all.. The only issue would be where you would think you may have open swimming - your actually going to deal with quite a few boats below and that would be my only complaint on this property. It all worked out and we had a great time!

Mother’s Day 2019
Kyle is attentive and responsive. He made the entire experience seamless from initial questions to booking, including a pre and post arrival follow up email.
The same attention to detail is reflected in their home. It is nicely and comfortably furnished with everything you might need for a pleasant stay. They even provide a few things we used but didn’t think to bring like a Bluetooth speaker.
The kitchen is exceptionally well appointed. All of the beds are comfortable. Bright white towels and linens add to the feeling of a home rather than a vacation rental.
The weather didn’t cooperate with our plans for fun in the sun on the water.
Instead we took advantage of the great location to visit some of the nearby sites.
The house is designed such that despite the rain there was plenty of space for our family, including our dogs, to be entertained indoors and on the covered deck.
The pups enjoyed the large fenced yard despite the rain.
Great house with responsive, thoughtful owners.
A nicely furnished, comfortable lakefront option for family gatherings and an exceptionally nice pet friendly property!

Family Vacation
The description of the location does not inform the renter of the motel that is right next to the property. The swimmers had to watch out for boats coming in and out from the weekend warriors. The trash and loud (inappropriate) rap music from the weekend warriors was not the best location for a family environment. The house was furnished nicely. The outdoor deck needs repair and caused splinters with some of the kids. Some of the outdoor furniture was broken but functional. The hot tub was clean and a nice feature to have.
The kitchen was not the cleanest with mouse poop under the sink, dried food stuck to "clean" dishes, dried food stuck on a dish towel folded in the drawer, many dishes with chips, outdoor grill left greasy dirty, and only one pot holder available.
The owner was contacted and they did offer to send the cleaning staff back but at that point we had already rewashed items. The dishwasher was in need of repair, only the bottom rack was functional. The top rack's cleaning mechanism was missing and found underneath the sink. There were plenty of bath/lake towels. The fenced in yard provided a safe haven for our dogs and even found a PFD for them so they could go in the lake. After reading another renter's review, seems gnats are still an issue.
For those families who like to unwind with technology after a long day in the sun, there are plenty of tvs in each room. The foosball table provided great entertainment for the kids.
Overall good, only issues were the trash was piled up completely full from previous guests, lots of Nats inside the home, May need to consider to spray, sheets in master room and blankets along with room downstairs had hair and nats along with some towels, some dishes were put up but dirty.
This place is awesome. It’s roomy, clean, cozy, and beautiful. The grand kids loved the hot tub, and we all loved watching the deer come right up in the yard. The lake is gorgeous, and the surrounding area is full of fun. Greune is just down the road, with awesome restaurants, shopping, and more. Natural bridge caverns is less than 30 minutes away. We will definitely be coming back, but next time we’ll bring deer corn.
We enjoyed the house it was large enough for everyone to do their own thing and for us to be together. Everything we needed was there and it was clean and homey.
This property was more than we expected. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and there was tons of space. The back decks are great: one covered, one sunny, and one fire pit lounge area. The kitchen had every cooking item you could ask for, and we cooked every night. The best part was the quiet little cove with zero boat traffic-we swam carefree for hours. The owner was very attentive, making sure we had what we needed to enjoy our trip and helping with recommendations on outings.
We enjoyed the quick access to the lake.
The house had some good features.
The owner was quick to respond.
Upon arrival there must have been some miscommunication because the cleaning crew had not come after the last guest. We contacted the owner, he apologized and had a crew immediately come out to clean.
Unfortunately it looks like the house has been neglected over the summer. Most of the beds had stains on the sheets, the bath towels in master bath had stains and holes, the carpet in bedrooms were in terrible shape with stains and were hard and crunchy in areas, a lot of the dishes and pans in the cabinets were dirty with food hardened on them etc...
We did speak to the owner when we left. He apologized for the experience we had. He mentioned they had been very busy over the summer but he said he will address the issues we told him about.
Would I stay here again, no. But if you are interested in a decent house with quick lake access and not really concerned about the cleanliness of the property, then this would be a great place.
Maybe reach out to the owner before you stay to see if the problems have addressed and fixed.
Great property! Spacious and clean. You have your “own private cove” to swim and float with the kids. The marina to rent boats , paddle boards, etc is not far at all. Kyle was communicative from the start.
We had a nice and relaxing time. Highly recommend!!
The house is well suited for a large group. Our party had four adults and five kids, and we were very comfortable. The layout is pretty well configured with two bedrooms with en suite baths on the lower level (same level as the deck) and a master upstairs. The two baths downstairs was convenient for getting the kids out of the lake and into the shower after a fun day on the water. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided, which is a nice touch.
There's lots of dining space and the kitchen was comfortable for a few adults and kids milling around while making dinner. The house is well stocked with lots of towels and we also found that it had a lot of other kitchen items which we'd brought such as tin foil and paper towels. Not sure if that is stocked by the owner or left by previous guests, but it's nice to not have to travel with a full pantry.
As for the lake, we had a blast. The house is next door to a boat ramp which was great to get our jet ski and boat in/out of the water. We pulled the inner tube in the AM when the lake was nice and flat, and then spent the afternoons in the cove at the foot of the hill. We brought several floats (although there are quite a few at the house, too) and had a blast hanging out and swimming. The path to the water is pretty good, but wear good water shoes as there are tons of sticker burrs; the kids got into them when wearing flip flops.
In the evenings, the adults had the run of the upstairs, playing games and drinking without worrying about waking the kids who were all together in the bunk room. We also told them the hot tub was for grown-ups only and we enjoyed several hours there after a long day of chasing kids.
All in all we had a great time. Canyon Lake is very nice, the water was so blue and clear, it really impressed us. It's close to New Braunfels where we popped in to Landa Park and Krause's for dinner. Both were awesome and worth the 25 minute drive. Also, we pre-ordered our groceries at HEB prior to arriving and picked them up at the location off 46 & 337, making it super easy with two cars full of antsy kids and no worrying about having enough ice chest space to keep our Blue Bell cold. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would recommend it to others traveling with a group or a couple of families!
We had a excellent experience with this place. Kyle was very responsive and for us it was a great place for my family from all over to get together for a graduation celebration. Tons of deer and wildlife and very close to great food a shopping within 20-30 minutes. This is a great place
