We stayed in Natchez for 4 days. During that time we we did a lot of sightseeing and saw many bed and breakfasts. Even though you do not get breakfast at Clifton House, this is by far the best place to stay. I would highly recommend the Observatory Suite. You have to climb a lot of stairs and we are 70 years old, but totally worth the climb. The view of the Mississippi River from our room is second to none. This was the most relaxing vacation I have had in years and it was due mostly to the accommodations at the Clifton House. I just cannot say enough about this place. I have posted pictures on Facebook and have been telling all my friends in Pensacola that they MUST vacation in Natchez and MUST stay at Clifton House. As you get to the top of the stairs you enter into a little living area complete with couch, television, chair with ottoman, sink, fridge and Keurig coffee make with a small sink nearby. As you walk down the hallway there is a bathroom on the right with a huge walk-in shower that we loved. Besides the sink there was a little table next to the toilet, so there was plenty of room for toiletries. Then there is the bedroom. Oh my goodness. The king size bed was so comfortable. There was a huge dresser, a chest of drawers, two suitcase racks, a chair for sitting, and by the window two swivel rockers with a very large ottoman in the center. All this and plenty of room to walk around. Imaging sitting in one of those rockers with the shades pulled up and watching the sun go down over the Mississippi river. Mark Twain was really onto something when he talked about the Mississippi, and the Clifton House is the best place to experience its majesty. We can hardly wait to go back, hopefully before our knees give out. hahaha.
