"Comfortable, clean, compact rooms (but I have seen smaller in Japan). Close to Kanayama rail station, shops and restaurants. 90% of the customers seemed to be Japanese men aged 20-60 -- like in an old-style 'commercial' hotel. Pretty good breakfast with plenty of vegetables."
