When I stayed in March 2025, I got the feeling that I was the only one in the place, which was a little spooky. The rooms and decor are a bit dated, but no big deal. The room was comfortable and roomy, which is what I love about these older hotels. The bed and bathroom were adequate. There is a morning food market right across the street.

Staff are wonderful. However the hotel is showing its age. Had issues with hot water a few times during our stay. Has always been an issue. Will stay again because the rooms are large and comfortable.

We had a problem with our first room we checked into. They moved us to another room for the night and then moved us to a new room the next morning. They were very accommodating. This is during a very bad rainy season here, and they have been very kind to us during our stay. The property is older, and there are some issues, but the staff is still very kind.

We loved the beautiful trees and shrubs around the property. The pool was great too! The hotel was disappointing with how run down it has become. There were roaches in our room every night. The shower curtain was dirty and moldy. The tub is cracked and needs replaced. The hotel needs fixed up and made beautiful again.

Terrible hotel

Outdated hotel, in need of significant upgrades. Needs new carpets, new linens, new towels and improved amenities. All mechanical and HVAC systems need to be replaced. No hot water in shower, sporadic A/C system reliability. Old TV with very limited channel access. Consider at tent instead.

An old hotel much in need of an upgrade.

The sockets didn't work, the TV didn't work, the kettle didn't work. Took 30 minutes to fix these problems. TV chanels very limited. Impossible to have a hot shower due to low water pressure. The water pressure was only sufficient when you switched to very cold! The breakfast buffet was terrible. Poor selection. Had breakfast at 9am and very little left. Complained but nothing happened.

Nice Clean Hotel close to heart of main town

Stayed in the hotel for 4 days. Check in and Check out was a breeze. Room and toilet was clean .. but water was initially brown. However after letting the tap and shower run , water colour eventually cleared. Believe it was due to lack of use. TV and Wifi was dissapointment. TV was CRT and only had Thai and Malaysian free to air channels. Room Service was good. Breakfast Buffet was satisfactory. Overall if you are looking for a nice and decent hotel to stay in.. this is it .. Finally, staff are pleasant but difficulty in communicating in English. Will be a plus if you can speak Malay, which I could.

Staffs are friendly. The hotel is 15 years old so don't expect too much as some facilities need renovation. Bangnara is a Halal restaurant. Breakfast is ok. I stay in standard room without free WiFi and no in room complimentary coffee. Nice city view from room.
