We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant, where we had the pleasure of having dinner on the evening of our arrival. We would highly recommend it. We would certainly choose the Grand Hotel Vesuvio again on our next visit to Naples. Highly recommended!

i did not think it lived up to being a LUXURY HOTEL OF THE WORLD experience at all. Room was small and i had good and bad experiences with the staff. Layout of hotel made finding rooms confusing. Breakfast was good in a pretty room.

Great hotel but the staff made it excellent from Bruno at the front desk to the bellman Giovanni. The breakfast staff was wonderful. Filipo and Elizabeth took great care of us and Antonio is a great cook. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the shopping district and harbor.

Hotel Vesuvio doesn’t try to impress you, it simply is impressive, the way history is. From the lobby to the old brass fixtures, everything here feels built with intention, by people who understood that real luxury doesn’t need to shout. The service: attentive without being intrusive, warm without being performative. If you want to feel transported to what hotels used to be, full of character, timeless elegance, history, and soul, this is it. It’s a shame that so many guests breeze past this kind of old-world charm, chasing the next trendy, Instagram-ready moment instead.

It was a beautiful hotel with attentive and friendly staff. Our room was excellent with a small balcony to view the port and castle. The Skytop lounge in the evening is a must! Excellent vantage point for sunset over the port and Mt Vesuvius to the east.

We absolutely loved our stay at Grand Hotel Vesuvio and would highly recommend it, especially if you’re visiting Naples for the first time. The location was one of our favorite things about the hotel. It’s right on the waterfront, close to the harbor and ferry terminals, and perfect for evening walks along the Lungomare. Naples can feel very busy and overwhelming in certain areas, so we really appreciated coming back to this part of the city each day. The area around the hotel felt cleaner, calmer, and safer to us, while still being very convenient for exploring the rest of Naples and taking ferries to the nearby islands. The hotel itself has so much character and history. Grand Hotel Vesuvio dates back to 1882, and you can really feel that sense of old-world elegance throughout the property. There is something special about staying in such a historic hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples and Castel dell’Ovo. Our room and the entire property were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The service was amazing from beginning to end. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was also top-notch and one of the best parts of our stay. There was a wonderful selection, everything was fresh, and the service each morning was excellent. Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel and would likely stay there again when in Naples. But two things bothered me about our room. First, the shower was tiny and the shower door was difficult to close correctly. Second, the bed linens felt rough and not high quality. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was excellent, the rooftop bar was lovely, all staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel room was nicely decorated, quiet, and comfortable.

Great Hotel

Quick overnight stay. We stayed one night prior to flying out of Naples. Wonderful rooftop lounge, very friendly professional staff, quite large breakfast in the am and spacious comfortable rooms.
