Disliked: Cleanliness
No cat cafe
We were looking forward to the cat cafe but it closed down last year. So disappointed and no breakfast. It was comfortable enough but a little cluttered. Not very swish but a cosy room. A bit like staying with an elderly neighbour. The place is super close to the Art house project office and Honmura. Could be worse.

Basic
Very basic acomodation, but no particular complaint.
The woman in charge doesn’t speak much English so don’t expect much help (but she is courteous). If you are worried about the “shared bathroom,” know that this is a guest house and not a hostel, so you only share with one other room (maybe two; don’t know what the other side of the house was like). Overall clean, though the woman’s room is very cluttered. Japanese Style room, and you make your own bed. FYI, arrive to the island early; things start shutting down at 4:30. Food may be difficult to find so don’t wait to eat last minute. Finally, if posible, don’t go to Naoshima on a Monday; everything is closed... or go Monday to avoid people ;)
