Not exactly what we expected.Pros:Recently paintedNice laminate flooring (no carpet)Spacious, open upstairs with partial ocean viewNew KeurigOlder washer/dryer, but they worked well.3 bedrooms on the middle floor, one a master suiteImmediate responses to problemsOur mini labradoodle loved it!Cons:Not as clean as we hoped. I vacuumed under and behind tables and under the couch (not including pic of that!).A dog house, so furniture is stained.Bottom floor with laundry had no bathroom, so my husband on a cane had to go upstairs from the pool.Pool has a major leak that we had to check each day to open hose for more water (The pool guy was great, though, and came more often.) He did say the owner will fix it end of season.Some small interior fixes needed.Hot tub on deck by road. Way too visible. Clean and checked twice a week, thoughDeck furniture moldy, so we didn't use the deck at all.Overall, we did have a restful stay during all the bad weather.

September 2023 Stay

Kitchen was well stocked. This was our first time taking a dog with us… not sure we will do that again. Queen bed needs new mattress! Everything else went well.

Not clean and kitchen cooking items old

Toenail clippings in living room floor/floors in general not clean, living room couch dirty /stained, bedspreads not clean, beds on middle floor very uncomfortable, some kitchen items in cabinets wore out, coffee maker burner was almost completely burn up, kitchen table paint was coming off…therefore felt sticky and nasty. Positives - top deck was very nice where hot tub was. Hot tub was new and clean, pool was small but was clean and refreshing and the location was nice … but no ocean view as stated due to houses across the street.

Excellent for dogs and kids

The hardwood laminate and ceramic tile throughout kept cleanup simple. Kitchen had the basics needed for a family who doesn't need to cook anything fancy. Beds very comfortable. Some minor maintenance issues, but the two that we asked to have addressed were handled promptly and professionally. Would use for a winter rental again!

Experienced several maintenance issues … sheets not fitting beds, missing or burned out light bulbs, floors were dirty, non working outlet outside ground floor, broken trash can…..Easy stuff for maintenance to fix. Location was great. Easy near access to beach…. And lots of near ice cream!!

Our 2022 Beach vacation

The property was just as listed, and beach access was great. There was plenty of room for the whole family and the kitchen was well stocked. The cleaning could have been a bit better as there was a great deal of food and dust under the sofa and chair in the living room, but other than that it was great. I would advise that anyone traveling with toddlers that the openings for the staircases are wider than a standard door frame as we brought baby gates, but they were too small for the opening, so we had to search for a wider gate in the surrounding areas and it was a challenge. We would stay here again for sure.

Great vacation home

We were very impressed with our stay! The kitchen was very well stocked, much better than I anticipated. Location is great, short walk to the beach. Also having the private pool and the hot tub was perfect for the days we didn't want the sand. It was the perfect house and location for our 3 family vacation with 11 people total. Would stay again in a minute!

This was the worst experience we have had in all the more than 40 years of vacationing!

• Delayed check in time; nearly 2 hours late. Since the cleaning staff of three people were there cleaning the house that had been trashed by the previous tenant, who stayed past the check out time. We had traveled more than 8 hours and were told that they had no idea when we would gain access to the house because of the condition of the house. • No email or text was sent to inform us of the situation. • Wet, sandy floors • Broken handle on microwave • Hundreds of dead bugs in light fixture in kitchen • Black mold in faucet handle in 2nd primary King bedroom. • Railings on bunk bed are not secure for a child and therefore couldn’t use this bedroom. • Debris under bunk bed, used Q-tips, tissues and empty water bottles. • Bedspreads stained with white substances, no evidence that they had been sanitized. Had to go out and buy bedcovers • Front lawn turfed and left muddy, by previous tenants. • Cigarette butts left in the sand near the outdoor shower, along with used lime wedges and shrimp shells. • Questionable condition of the pool; had to be shocked multiple times. • Questionable condition of the hot tub; had to be drained twice. • Trash cans full, no room for our trash. I have documented all issues with photographs All of this made what should have been a lovely, relaxing vacation in OBX, into a nightmare, spending my first three days on the phone with Shoreline and writing emails, wasting my precious vacation time. It has cause anxiety and discourse in my family and I am at the very least disappointed in this rental and the service they offered. General Manager, Tammy and Ken the owner of the company we rude and shouted at me over the phone (so much for Southern charm). In the end they refunded me $152.00 quite an insult. I will never rent from this company again.

Great spot to spend with family and small kids

This property was in a great location and was well set up for our family. We liked the small pool which was nice for infants/toddlers or if you just wanted to cool down and the balconies were nice in the morning and evening. We loved the hot tub! Might have been nice to have a few more blankets so maybe bring some of your own if you know you like to have extra at night. It was also next to a great ice cream spot and they had a beach wagon and bikes there! All around great spot and perfect for a little family time on the outer banks.

Great Location, so much potential

This property is located minutes from the beach, can walk dog in great neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and ice cream. Well stocked kitchen. With just a few changes, it really could b a great spot. Needs updated furniture and better mattresses in 2 of the 4 bedrooms. Needs new dryer as the one there stopped working. Cable didn't work for 24 hours. Office and maintenance communicated with us but made us feel like we were bothering them. Loved that it was pet friendly.

Perfect location

We loved this place despite having poor weather for the week. The place was roomy, clean and in a perfect location in the OBX. Close to the beach. Close to a coffee shop, cute art Shops, and best of all an ice cream shop! We’d go back if the opportunity arises.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at the Outer Banks. The house is conveniently located....but could stand to be updated. The carpeting was badly stained throughout the house, the furniture in the family room was also stained and one chair was broken and could not be used. Decor was very dated. The kitchen table is large and roomy but extremely scratched up. Plan on waking up at the crack of dawn (every bedroom) because every window has cheap, paper thin, dollar store mini blinds. The house is very roomy and had perks of a small pool and hot tub. Also, not really sure why I had to pay a cleaning fee when I was expected to vacuum the house and ensure that all the kitchen items were cleaned and put away prior to leaving the property.??

Comfortable, enjoyable house

The house was clean and the check in process simple. The pool and hot tub were in perfect condition. The kitchen is ample and has all the necessary appliances plus some that you don't usually find in a weekly rental. Sheets and towels were packaged in sealed plastic bags. Loved the deck off the living room with the hot tub.

A Lovely Winter Stay

We spent two weeks at Dolphin Watch and were grateful for the spacious accomodations for our small group. The house had most everything we needed, was close to lots of amenities, and was an easy walk to the beach. Our young kids loved having the grassy area to play in. We planned this trip very last minute and everything went very smoothly with checking in. Thanks for a lovely two weeks!
