About this property
A hideaway brimming with nostalgia gently welcomes you. In the glow of the good old days, you can feel warmth, peace, and sleep gently blending together.
While making the most of the unique atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house built in the mid-Showa period, the design—which focuses on the contrast between light and shadow—conveys a modest and serene ambiance. We have carefully selected furnishings that capture the charm of the Tokai region and meticulously crafted the space down to the finest details.
From a space where you can enjoy the play of light and shadow created by the sun, it transforms into a space where you can feel quiet, profound shadows at night. We paid special attention to the placement of lighting so that guests can savor the lingering ambiance of the darkness. The lighting design, which combines the charm of the early Showa era with modern sophistication, brings deep relaxation to the body as the day draws to a close.
The delicate shadows cast by the light quietly streaming in through the windows fade away, as if melting into the depths of the dimly lit room. To embody the “sensibility that finds beauty in the shadows,” as described by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki in *In Praise of Shadows*, we have designed the interior and furnishings to accentuate the interplay of light and shadow.
