We loved the property, so beautiful! Our kids loved the pool and playground and we enjoyed sitting by the Lake with the cool breeze and playing pickle ball in the evenings once the courts were shaded. We also loved the proximity to Duck Lake Beach, our kids enjoyed the two days we went there. It’s also only a 15 min drive into town where there are some really good places to eat and a Walmart and aldi for groceries.
We stayed in the annex and its well maintained but showing its age especially in the bathrooms (small sinks that poorly drain) and one of bathrooms laminate floors had some water damage. Our suite had one window unit in the master bedroom and it kept us plenty cool during this heat wave but we couldn’t close the bedroom door or it would get a little stuffy in the other rooms (only matters if your traveling with others and want some privacy). Our bath towels and pool clothes also wouldn’t dry on the hooks (maybe some towel drying rods like they use in England would help) and there wasn’t a great place to hang them outside to dry. We drove into town and did some laundry midway through our trip to freshen up our beach towels and clothes.
Overall we would stay here again but probably choose one of the larger cabins for our family of four with a kitchenette but we booked only a couple months before our trip so we were lucky to find something.
You can tell the owner takes pride and great care of their property and we really enjoyed our first trip to Michigan.
Good for families because there are lots of free activities on property. Quick walk to the local convenience store- White Duck- and our room at least did not have a TV which was actually nice for the two nights we were there. Had a nice deck overlooking Lake Mich from our room too. The AC units were window units and could have been a little better but it was luckily not super hot out. We were in the Annex building on the second floor with two double beds in the main room and a queen in a separate room.
The place is beautiful! Right on Lake Michigan with the best sunsets Iv ever seen. Although the pool was great and shuffleboard was cool the WiFi didn’t work at all and I couldnt get any service on my phone. Normally I wouldn’t complain but there also wasn’t a tv. So there was nothing for my ten year old son and I could do after dark. I don’t think anyone checked in on us to ask how our stay was going or if we needed anything. It made us feel a little out of place. The photos were wrong as well, i thought we would have a balcony but we did not. The photos are of all the rooms and I didn’t know how small ours would be. Sorry…
Really great place! Clean, comfortable, friendly, and outstanding sunset views over the Big Lake. A food/drink option on property would be great, and a partition on the shared balcony for privacy too, but overall this was a great stay!
This property far exceeded my expectations, it has beautiful views, a small swimming beach, sand dunes for viewing, a clean pool, sitting areas with lake views, and overall spacious. Can’t wait to stay again!
Liked the location, and pool. The walls of my room are pretty thin. Could hear conversations of other guests. The wifi was also very glitchy.

We’ve stayed at the Michillinda Lodge twice in the last few years and it’s a great and unique old property. Great views of Lake Michigan, great little covenience store (that has almost everything) within walking distance, close to golf and Whitehall/Montigue, and lots of family friendly activities. Our room was good - bathroom in our room was REALLY tight on toilet/shower placement and toilet seat was unsteady. This was a very minor issue in our room abd everything else was great!
We had a one night stay with our family of four, and I wish we had booked at least one more just to spend a day on e property. This is a gorgeous spot next to Lake Michigan. It’s secluded yet close enough to town that you can go out for a nice meal and pick up any supplies you may need. The room was plenty big enough for us and our two young children with a walk out patio and excellent view of the lake. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable and the kids said they slept great on the pull out couch. The property is a gem, set back from the main road and the driveway lined with antique lanterns. Overall this was an exceptional place for our stay!
