"I want to put a bad review so no one else will come find this amazing gem, but I can't! It is simply a breathtaking view! The rooms are clean and bed super comfortable. Dining room is huge and coffee/tea provided. We met some lovely couples and even shared a breakfast together one morning and stargazed too. Perfect place for a wedding or family reunion or church retreat! We will def be back again! "

"It was just great. We are from Florida and we go to NC every year. This house is cozy, comfortable, we loved the fire pit and comfy beds. They have grill, we made chicken, salmon, stakes:) it’s close to many hikes. We saw the dears! Awesome place. Thank you Cynthia:)"

"The property was beautiful and as listed. Heating system was a little confusing at first, but good directions in the guide book to the house were very helpful. Same for the hot tub settings. But everything works and it's an absolutely lovely home to stay in. Hot tub was actually bigger than expected. Bedrooms were ample and comfortable. I would highly recommend this home."

"Close to Burnsville, but far enough away to allow for a wonderful relaxing weekend. The home sits on the hillside above a beautiful river and there’s hiking on the property. The check-in process was seamless and all of our questions prior to arrival were answered promptly. This is a fantastic property and we hope to return again."

"My partner and I had a wonderful time staying at the Fox Den to celebrate our anniversary. The location is conveniently 20 minutes from the nearest town, but just far enough away that it feels very remote. As of July 2025, many of the main parks in the area are still recovering from Hurricane Helene damage, but that didn't stop us from finding open places to explore, as the Fox Den is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The home is already equipped with basic necessities such as paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper, so you do not need to go out of your way to buy those things at the store before your visit. Towels and linens are also provided, which saved some room for us when packing! Overall, great visit and Ron was extremely accommodating and available throughout our stay. If you're ever in the area, the Fox Den is a great place to stay."
