Lakefront Home with Spectacular View
Rent this entire two story duplex located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula just 20 minutes west of St. Ignace (near Brevort). This home offers a spectacular view of Lake Michigan's north shore. Enjoy nature and the beauty of Lake Michigan from your front window throughout the day. Take a private stroll along the beach at a little known and private beach setting accessible just 100 yards West of the front door. This beach area is about 20' below US 2, and it's not even visible to the vehicles on the highway. Furthermore, US2 curves inland, so the farther West you go, the more remote the beach becomes.
Satellite TV and internet!
This duplex is ideal for large families, or 2 small families, and offers a 2 bedroom 1st floor (1 Queen, 1 Full) with spacious living room w/sofa, comfortably sleeping up to 4 people. The second floor has 2 bedrooms (both Queen) and a spacious kitchen/living room w/Futon and will comfortably sleep up to 6. The upstairs and downstairs have separate entrances, offering both the kids and adults the privacy they desire.
The duplex is easy to get to, located on West US 2, just 20 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge. The property is about 100 ft. back from the 2 lane highway. The highway runs adjacent to the beach, and is between the duplex and the beach.
Hiking: The property abuts a vast area of state and federal forest land and offers great wilderness hiking including Switchback Ridge which is a large inland dune just 1/2 mile away. There are some majestic views from that ridge line! As well, the popular North Country Trail that stretches from New York to North Dakota can be picked up just a few miles away. There are a network of trails and 2 tracks leading through the woods so be sure to bring your compass if you plan to do any adventuring.
Nearby Attractions: Nearby attractions include Mackinac Island (a ferry ride from St. Ignace), Tahquamenon Falls (1 Hr.), Whitefish Point (1 Hr.) the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie (1 Hr.). Pictured Rocks is about 2+1/2 Hrs away, but it is worth it! You can take the boat tour (though its a bit pricey) or just take in the land lover's view for free at Miners Castle. It's breath taking. If you go, don't forget to stop and stick your toes in the sand at beautiful Miners Beach - you'll see it through the woods from the lookout at Miners Castle. P.S. Don't expect a man made castle at the lookout, but it's no less impressive! The 5 hr. shoreline hike between Mosquito Falls and Chapel Rock is dazzling, but bring bug spray!!
If you enjoy some occasional gambling, there are casinos in many of the 'major' cities of the UP.
If you just like souvenir shopping and tasting the flavors of the local cuisine, St. Ignace will have what you are looking for.
Fishing: Rent a boat or canoe (or drop in your own) in nearby Big Brevort Lake to work on a a fresh fish dinner (perch, pike, walleye, bass & panfish) for the evening. Alternately, charter a fishing boat out of St. Ignace and try your luck in the waters of Lake Michigan or Lake Huron.

Out first time in Michigan, we really enjoyed our week.. The house was acceptable still some issues with mice that need worked out, but didn't ruin our time. Over all we had a good experience. And would have no issues staying again.
We love staying at this duplex! We have been staying here for about three years in a row. Yes, there are bugs, bats and a mouse that likes to hangout near the downstairs bathroom but we don’t mind. Just about any place you stay in the UP, you will come across one or a few of these critters. This year we adventure to find the amazing beach across the street from the duplex. We felt like we were on an Indiana Jones adventure, and we loved it! Jason, thank you for another great stay! We can’t wait to be back!
Our first time in the U.P. so we were going in blind. House was exactly what we needed for our group. If your looking for fancy, this isn't the place but definitely adequate and was well stocked with everything you would need away from home. The road is very busy and loud with lots of truck traffic so that is something to consider if you like peace and quiet. The house sits back off the road though. The secluded beach makes up for the busy road and makes the location well worth it.
The property was as described and clean. There were dishes in the cabinet that were dirty and had to be washed before use but otherwise very clean. Ant problem in downstairs but host dealt with it swiftly. The private beach was amazing but you do have to cross a very busy state route to get to it. Upstairs unit was stifling with the heat. Need sun blocking curtains for windows facing lake to block sun in afternoon. Could not cook. Got up to 85 degrees inside but it was unseasonably warm per locals. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 4 children. My family and I did have a great time overall. We would come back again, just maybe bring a portable a/c. Lol.
This location was perfect for everything we wanted to do in the UP! We were an hour and a half from Lake Superior, an hour from the Soo Locks and Tahquamenon Falls, 20 mins from the Ferry from Mackinaw Island and Mackinaw City. The place was also great for our whole family and had plenty of space for us all to be together or separate. We did have some issues but Jason helped remedy those. The house is on the older side but I liked the rustic cabin charm. I would recommend this place, the location and price was perfect for us! I would say while the lower level does have 2 beds one room doesn’t have a door and there is a gap between the ceiling and wall so not much privacy between those 2 rooms. We improvised with a sheet and made it work but if you are looking for more privacy you will want to sleep on the top floor. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We had another wonderful stay at the duplex this year. This is the perfect spot right off of US-2 with an amazing view over Lake Michigan. Don't forget to check out the beach! Thank you, Jason!
Easy check in and check out. Had all necessities for kitchen. Nice secluded private beach area. Just remember bug spray is all I would recommend.. wouldn’t mind returning again.
Recently stayed here for a family vacation. The property is very spacious and in a great location!! At night the sounds of the lake are so relaxing and the star gazing is awesome!! We enjoyed our stay!
The property is in a great location. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The description of the private beach needs to describe the way to get there stating there are rocks that need to be climbed down. It is not an easy task for older people. The yard was not mowed until the day before leaving. It was almost knee hi. Other than that it was okay
Few things on this property ,
1.Property was very near to lake , both night & day time view was awesome
2. Very specious for 2 family . Best getaway place for summer. Even though we stayed during fall season, still its near to all national parks
3. I would defiently refer this property for summer.
We absolutely LOVED staying here. It was far enough away that the hustle and bustle of St. Ignace was not even a thought in our minds. The view of Lake Michigan was incredible. I loved sitting outside reading and drinking coffee watching the sun come over the lake. We also loved that we were able to easily get to our "touristy sites" without having to go back through St. Ignace and enjoy just driving through the scenery. We also enjoyed having the unit upstairs separate as ours so we could still be close but not on top of each other during our stay. We are already in the talks of planning another trip so we can explore the parks next!
Enjoyed a great week at this wonderful U.P. vacation duplex. Clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and quite roomy between the two floors, but the highlight of the house is the beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Great location on the lake, and while there is no swimming beach directly in front of the house (which actually enhances the view), there are nice beaches within a couple of miles. Also close to inland lakes and hiking trails, and within 90 minutes of several Upper Peninsula attractions such as Tahquamenon Falls, Soo Locks, Mackinac Island ferries, and Kitch-Iti-Kipi.

My family and I had a great time we had 3 straight days of rain and The Duplex came in great for entertaining A 7yo and 4yo little boys without having them go stir crazy.
The Pictures dont due the home justice It is a very clean with plenty of room it has perfect up north cottage charm with modern mixed in to make your vacation great.
We had five Adults and 2 small boys there for 10 days and loved it we plan on returning next summer.
It's a bit of a drive from the torist atractions But if you have been to the area in the summer you will enjoy getting away from the crowds.
We Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy Northern Michigans
Thanks again Jason

Great view and location
The house is in a wonderful location for launching into a day of site-seeing and adventure throughout the peninsula. And the view is spectacular!
The mosquitoes were awful, as were the gnats, but at least they didn't bite. Blackflies were also an issue, so we bought lots of bug spray.
Our son and his family stayed in the upstairs, where everything is open and light. My husband and I were downstairs where the paneling and decor is more like a cabin. The bathroom is small. The dryer is out in the storage room, so that is annoying to carry clean clothes out to a dirty area.
The trek to the beach is a bit treacherous, so my husband didn't even try, but I did and it was worth it. The grand kids were there everyday and loved it.
This house was perfect for our family of 5, the (adult) kids loved having their own apartment to themselves upstairs, while my husband and I enjoyed the downstairs. The entire house was clean and everything we needed was provided. The panoramic view of Lake Michigan is incredible and the little hike down the hill to the very private, sandy beach is well worth it. Wonderful swimming and gorgeous sunsets all week♥️ The bugs weren’t too bad, although my husband found a tick on his leg after we had been outside for awhile gathering firewood, so watch out for them! The campfire helped drive away the hungry mosquitoes. On clear nights the stars were like a blanket of diamonds in the sky- just spectacular!! The location is also great distance for day trips to Grand Marais, Pictured Rocks, Whitefish Point, Manistique area/Kitch-iti-kipi, and Tahquamenon Falls are all within 90 minutes drive. We had a great stay, would definitely recommend this place, and would consider staying here again if we are lucky enough to get back to this beautiful area
We were to stay 4 nights and stayed 1 only because hotels were all booked. Mouse droppings and traps in kitchen, bare electrical wires by electric meter by main door, insulation hanging from unfinished walls, outside security light not working. Description states 4 bedrooms available but doesn't tell you 2 bedrooms are upstairs with only outside staircase access. Only 1 exit upstairs. Property manager would not answer multiple phone calls. Finally had to call VRBO and talk to 7 people before being assured a phone call from property owner and refund. Property owner had numerous illogical excuses. Would definitely not recommend.

Unwanted critter guests at the duplex
**Beware!**Vintage duplex home that needs an exterminator. No working smoke detectors. Mudroom has exposed fiberglass insulation that isn't secured well and exposed electrical wires. This room is dark with live mice running around and a musty foul odor of decaying mice and mouse urine. The lower level of the home needs an exterminator to rid the house of the many unwanted mice that run around at night getting into your food and personal belongings. The multiple traps set behind all the couches, under the TV and in the kitchen should have been our first red flag! The second should have been the urine and feces found all over the bedroom of the lower level! The linoleum floor was ripped in the shower room showing the wood subfloor. And all the window sills were filled with flies that we had to clean out in order to open the windows for fresh air because this home does not have AC. We awoke to mice running in the ceiling at night and mouse feces on the kitchen counter.
When I notified the property owner of the issues, he did send a maintenance person over the same day. They came and put batteries in the smoke detectors, lower level only(they still didn't work) And took some mouse traps with dead mice in them. They placed new traps in the ceiling and bedrooms "where they placed them before". The entire bedroom needed cleaned, but only the closet was done. Very Dissapointed! And the owner is aware!! But not fully taking care of the problems. Owner comments were snide at times
