Moonshine Beach

Campgrounds, picnic shelters and a boat ramp provide an excellent sandy base from which to explore pretty Table Rock Lake.

Moonshine Beach is a pristine lakeside stretch of sand backed by a grassy mound and a scenic forest. It provides a cordoned-off swimming area in picturesque Table Rock Lake, while the strand has a large picnic shelter. Sleep beneath the stars at one of the campgrounds in the area and visit the beach in the morning.

Enjoy the spectacular vistas of the large lake and the headlands encroaching across the water. Arrive at Peninsula Lookout at sunrise or sunset for particularly gorgeous views. Prepare snacks and drinks for a meal in the large picnic shelter that is spacious enough for 75 people. A boat ramp lets you take your vessel out onto the water, where you can explore the rugged headlands of Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.

Play ball games on the sand and join a match on the volleyball court. You can also sunbathe or have a picnic on the grassy knoll at the back of the beach. Hike past the oak and hickory trees of the forest lining the beach.

Cool down after your walk with a dip in the swimming section of the water. Bring snorkeling or scuba diving gear for a clearer underwater view. Restroom facilities are convenient to access.

As you walk south, you’ll encounter the impressive Table Rock Dam. Stop at the Dewey Short Visitor Center, with its modern design and outdoor observation deck. Start the adjacent Table Rock Lakeshore Trail.

Moonshine Beach lines the northeastern corner of Table Rock Lake in southwestern Missouri, just north of Table Rock State Park. From downtown Branson, drive southwest for 8 miles (13 kilometers) to reach the strand in about 20 minutes.

Explore the surroundings for other attractions, such as the Titanic Museum, Fall Creek Marina and the Runaway Mountain Coaster and Flyaway Ziplines at Branson Mountain Adventure.
