Awesome home

What's the perfect home size and amenities we needed for our large family we rented the boat which came in handy for touring the lake great place for swimming off the dock. Also had paddle boards floaters everything we need enjoy our time highly recommend this home on Lake Freeman

Relaxing

Family had a wonderful time. Master bathroom was the only disappointment - Shower water pressure was bad and the tub jets didn't work, but we managed. Home was as described and very clean. Very spacious and we really enjoyed the lake and fishing with grandkids. The firepit at night was relaxing as well.

Wonderful lake house. Our family was there for a Purdue graduation. We all fell in love. The house is well equipped to say the least. Beautiful property. Mike is top notch. Would definitely rent again.

Wonderful Family Weekend

We had a wonderful time staying at the Rustic Luxury Estate on Lake Freeman. The house is fully stocked with everything you can imagine. The lily pad for the lake was an added bonus and the kids and adults enjoyed all the water toys provided. There was so much to do inside and out. Brian and Alison were exceptionally responsive to all our questions leading up our stay. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Great Lake get away and we hope to be back next summer.

Great place for family

Stayed for one week. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house exceeded expectations. The A/C unit went out our first day and Mike did everything in his power to get it fixed asap and keep us comfortable. Even installed window A/C units and fans until the whole house unit could be fixed 2 days later. Thanks Mike for the attentiveness and making us feel welcomed.

Beyond Fabulous

Our stay on Lake Freeman was beyond fabulous. Not only was the house clean and beautiful but it had EVERYTHING you would need for your stay. Everything in the kitchen to make meals, every spice you would need, outdoor watersports equipment, bag chairs, toys, games and firewood. All you need to bring is your clothes and toothbrush. Actually, I think I saw some toothbrushes in packages for guests to use. The layout of the house works perfectly for all ages. We had the two year old and 7 month old in the lower level with their parents while the grandparents and aunts and uncles were in the upper level. The handyman Marcus was amazing at getting us ready to use the Pontoon Boat and ga ve us his number incase we needed anything. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental. You will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed this place so much, we returned a second year for family reunion.

I have rented in several states through VRBO since 2009. We have rented three other properties in the Monticello area, and Mike is, without a doubt, the most gracious host we have ever had. When the coffee pot failed on our first morning, Mike had a new one at the house that afternoon, even though there was a Keurig (with pods!) there as well. His lake home is spacious, tasteful, well maintained, and appointed with items of necessity and a lot of extras. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms much nicer than typically found in a resort rental. The kitchen contains everything needed to prepare meals for a large group, with a roomy adjacent pantry closet for grocery storage, and an extra refrigerator and freezer in the garage. We are a large family with folks from infant to 85, and everyone enjoyed the indoor and outdoor spaces. The upstairs deck, and downstairs porch assure that even rainy days won't ruin the fun. There are plenty of spaces to be together, or to get away for a bit of tranquility, if desired. The play set on property was a hit with the 5-8 year olds, and the kayaks and dock area were popular with the college aged kids. The firepit was used every night by the whole crowd, with music and singing (which the neighbors were gracious about.) We plan to return again next year, as the vote was hearty and unanimous, that Mike's home is superior in every way!

Totally Awesome !!!!!!

This place is definitely at the top of our family vacation's. We ( have 4 Children, spouses and 4 grandchildren) and we love to vacation together and this place superseded our expectations. The cabin is gorgeous, spaces and very homey feeling. Mike (the owner) has provided every thing you need to just have fun and enjoy - swimming, fishing, kayak's, corn hole, not counting all the inside games. The cabin is fully stocked with everything as well, dishes, silverware, pots/panes, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, trash bags. I was very impressed with how well it was stocked. The cabin is very spacious 5 bed rooms 3 full bathes with plenty of hot water. The kitchen is amazing with a huge refrigerator and 5 burner stove with double ovens. I might add there is also a fridge and freezer in the 3 car garage. The cabin also has 2 sets of large capacity washers and dryers which is a big bonus one on the main floor and one set on lower level. There is also 2 grills which I loved ( son-in-law done most of the cooking ). The huge wrap around porch off the main floor is astounding with 2 huge patio tables with umbrellas, we enjoyed our meals and morning coffee out there just looking out at the water. I can't say enough about this property it's beautiful and the pic's don't do it justice. The owner is awesome too!!! He has truly made vacation as worry free as possible and he is so quick to respond to questions or concerns. While we there one of the kayak paddles was missing, I called Mike and within a couple hours he showed up with a new paddle. Loved Loved staying here.

Luxury stay in the country

This was our second stay at this well-appointed cabin on Lake Freeman because we enjoyed it so much the first time! The hosts are great at communicating everything we needed to know for our stay, responsive with questions, and they provided so many unexpected extras that you don’t usually find like toiletries, kitchen items, laundry items, indoor games, books and all the outdoor toys too! 5 separate bedrooms and a full bath on each of the 3 floors allowed everyone in our family (4 adults and 2 teens) to spread out and have their own space if they needed and a giant great room/kitchen and a large outdoor deck to hang out together in. Great place to stay!

It was a wonderful week at the lake house. It was warm and inviting and very well appointed and supplied. It was the first VRBO we didn't have to rush out and buy supplies. Would stay there again.

Lake Freeman Cabin

What an unbelievable place. Everything, the check in, the living space, the view, the quietness, everything, just perfect. The home is amazing, Brian was great to work with. mother Nature was the only speed bump, would have loved to have seen more of the lake from the pontoon....

Extended family trip

We had a very short weekend, but this home had everything we needed and more. Including an iron that I used! Beautiful home! Parking is the only issue if you have more than 4 cars.

Beautiful Lake Home

Our family had a wonderful weekend on Lake Freeman. The home was beautiful and had many activities for us to do: kayaking, paddle boarding, corn hole, roasted marshmallows. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook all meals there. We really enjoyed our weekend.

Sampson Family Vacation-Christmas in August

We gifted this family trip to our 4 daughters and their families as a Christmas present. There ended up being 13 of us, with two more grandkids on the way. The house accommodated our growing crew. We appreciated the 5 bedrooms and large spaces in the home. The beds were very comfortable! We also used both pack n’plays. It would have been helpful to have a high chair available. We loved the dining table and patio tables. Most rentals do not have enough seating for our big family to enjoy meals together, but this one did. We were shocked to find the huge variety of games, outside toys, and lake toys. The shallow water around the dock was perfect for us, due to having 3 grandsons. This was the most clean house we have ever rented, and it was well stocked! Loved it!

Family getaway

We had a great time at this beautiful spacious cabin! It had all of the amenities there for our grandchildren to play with along with things for the adults also. Great cove to float, kayak or just relax by. We highly recommend this cabin!

Great Location, dock & Well Equipped home

4 Generations stayed the week with grandma, our four kids families and 4 young grandkids. Well stocked with supplies and everything we needed including laundry, kitchen, and bathroom supplies. Great location on the cove of the lake, nice dock area for our boat, with a shallow play area for everyone, enjoyed using the kayaks and standup paddle boards, nice backyard that we used for a blow up pool, house had games and toys for the kids which were very useful, extra frig/freezer in garage was awesome, indoor parking for 3 vehicles was nice but a little crowded outside for 3 other smaller vehicles, master hottub/bath jets did not work, gas fireplace did not work, not a great location if you have mobility issues due to several steps and multilevel, but overall one of our favorite locations we've stayed out in the area. We we will definitely consider this location again for our next stay.

A wonderful family experience!

Early this month, our 4 kids, their spouses & kids all had a bonding & fun weekend at this luxurious Lake Freeman cabin. We intermixed cabin activities with pontoon rides, plus plenty of tasty meals & conversations of past memories. All of us had not been together like this for years…and it is a new memory for everyone. Hats off to the cabin owners & facility manager for helping us maximize all the available cabin amenities, including pontoon training, games, BBQ grill, campfire area, lake floats, and more.

Wow! Fantastic Lakehouse!

This Lakehouse is 'more' than advertised... Brian and Allison have thought of and provided everything... it really is 'in the details'. Our daughters booked this house for their Dad's 60th belated bday present with our whole Fam and our 41st Wedding Anniversary. It did not disappoint! The house was as pictured and so much more... Tucked in a peaceful cove with a spacious and nice dock on the water looking out into the open water of Lake Freeman. A beautiful yard with a little brook and a bridge which of course intrigued our granddaughter. The house is spacious with bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas on each level and all so beautifully decorated. Luxurious is correct in their description of the property. The outdoor living space is amazing with a wraparound upper deck which covers the lower patio for those rainy days when yard games are necessary. When I say details.... I mean, plush towels and linens, the good tp and paper towels, hey, it's important! :) And, baggies and trash bags, etc. Brian and Allison were very kind and responsive to all my questions. Markus, the property manager, was very friendly and fun to chat with. All in all, this was a fabulous trip for our Family and look forward to staying here again.

Perfect for a reunion

We were a group of seven former college roommates some of whom hadn’t seen each other for 50 years! This was the perfect property for our get together. The combined kitchen/dining/living area easily accommodated our group and we spent lots of time on the beautiful spacious deck overlooking the dock and the lake. The house was very clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen which has a great selection of cooking and serving items. Beds were all comfortable and bathrooms all have both showers and soaking tubs! We especially enjoyed the fire pit! The owners were easy to work with and very responsive, check in and check out was straightforward. Highly recommend this beautiful property - 5 well deserved stars!
