We really enjoyed our stay at Greenmount. The owners are so nice and helpful, the breakfasts were exactly what we needed to fuel up for our explorations, the common areas (including the kitchen) were much appreciated, and for birders, there is so many species to see just down the street. We will gladly stay there again!

Greemount was a nice, convenient place to see the sites near Monteverde. Not fancy, but clean and completely adequate, with great service and a very nice breakfast included. It is also a great bargain for the area.

Breakfast was made fresh every morning. I stayed 3 days. Each morning was a different breakfast and they were all wonderful. Fresh coffee and juice was provided. I loved how my family just picked a time slot we wanted to eat and breakfast was ready when we arrived.

Don’t want to get into too much detail but out of the three places I stayed at during my week in Costa Rica this was the worst one. They charged me a fee for using the “community” kitchen after 9 p.m. We had just gotten back from a night tour and heated up some muffin bread and had a small snack. Staff was watching a movie on his laptop right outside of our room and didn’t mention anything to us. The female staff were pretty nice and the breakfast was okay.

In the heart of Monteverde, yet far enough away from the tourist traps, this is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The family are all *so* kind and helpful, and everything is a short cab ride away. The place is very clean. The breakfasts are delicious. Bed was comfortable, and there was a TV, fan and fridge in the room. The kitchen is open during the day to make your own food. We are so glad we booked to stay at Greemount Hotel.

Wonderful staff! They made us feel so at home and helped us book all the activities we wanted to do while visiting monteverde. The rooms do get a bit hot because there are no ac units - just one rotating fan per room. The bathroom also had a rough smell because there were no vents inside of it. But if you are looking for an affordable, safe and welcoming stay, this is definitely a wonderful pick!!

Our stay in Greemount was great. The property located a bit out of the city that makes the area more quiet. The room was spacious ,very clean and with comfortable beds. It had a functional fan and we absolutely didn't need AC nor teh fan as the area doesn't get too warm. The property is family owned and it is very cute and well maintained. The room we had was better than the images. There is a small sitting area inside and one outside that we enjoyed a lot using them. The kitchen is a great plus to the hotel allowing you to have a small meal and not always hit out meals. Finally the owner was absolutely helpful and available at all time. He helped us to book our tours in the area, at no extra cost and actually saved us money by getting the tours on the right time. We enjoyed our stay there! Thank you

A great family ran business! The help they provided with booking excursions and shuttles in the area was the upmost appreciated and lead to a great experience in Monteverde. The hotel was a nice quiet place to relax and great ambiance. It was about a 20 minute walk to town.

A hidden gem

Very nice and personal hotel. This was our favourite Hotel in Costa Rica, excellent service. It looks much better and the rooms are bigger than the pictures make it look like.

The staff was very friendly. The space in the photo is a common room which is well-lit and very comfortable. Breakfast was prepared for each guest individually. There was a barking dog next door and a crying baby that disturbed our sleep.
