「Booked two rooms through the app. Arrived after a long drive through the mountains, only to be told our reservation had been cancelled — no call, no email, no warning. The explanation was a "system error" that apparently left them unaware they had no rooms. They moved us to another hotel. Calling it a downgrade is generous — the room felt more like a hospital ward than a hotel, closer to a cell than anything we had paid for. 「Hotel Villa San Carlo was a disappointment. The hosts are exceedingly nice, but the hotel itself is in dire need of an update. Nothing has been done in 20 years. The beds are wildly uncomfortable, the bathrooms less functional from the shower cabins to the 20 year old hair dryers. Air conditioning works sometimes, WiFi is sketchy and the breakfast is severely lacking. Even for Italian standards. The same sad hard boiled eggs came from the fridge 3 days in a row.」

「All staff and scenery are very fine, and all food are excellent. 」

「It’s a beautiful spot but extremely small bathroom with limited/bare necessities. The breakfast buffet was extremely limited and mostly prepackaged items. No variety, every morning same items. Too bad cause it’s a beautiful location」
