My daughter and I recently stayed in the Road House at Pack Creek, and had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and very charming. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is very welled stocked with a variety of pots, pans, utensils, and lots of left over spices from previous guests. After long day hikes in Arches and Canyonland, and Dead Horse State Park, we would relax on the back deck and watch the goats grazing in the large meadow that backs up to the cabin. After dinner, we would watch the magnificent sunset fade behind the mountains. On our last day there, we decided to take a break from hiking and just relax by the pool. If I had to have one negative comment about the place, it would be about the pool, because it had lots of bugs and leaves floating around. Because there was no lifeguard or attendant, my daughter and I took turns skimming them out with the net. I have a pool at home, so it was no big deal and between the two of us, it only took about five minutes, before we were able to enjoy the refreshing water. There is also a spa, but my daughter and I did not indulge ourselves.
My only regret about staying in the Road House, is that my other family members were not able to join us! The next time I come to Moab, I will book one of the bigger cabins, so they too, will experience the wonderful time my daughter and I spent here. I have lived in San Francisco, but I left my heart in the Road House at Pack Creek!
