This is like a home away from home. We reserved the room the night before and got a code and room number. We arrived and went to our room and typed in the code. The bathroom, kitchen and pool table are shared spaces but we only saw 2 military looking guys who were at the other side of the building. This property runs like clockwork and with its considerate clientele is a great place to stay.

The room was fine, the hotel and restaurant and bar were nice. There was no AC. We had a fan we found in the closet which helped only a little but it was almost unbearable. We turned the AC on and it made noise but you couldn’t feel any air movement from it and nothing cool at all.

Very basic hotel, not bad just small room and no TV mosquitoes inside the room. They even had a bug zapper placed on top of the dresser so you could swap them.

This Hostel is a wonderful find! It is on bus routes for easy transportation, and near several eateries. I liked meeting people from outside Alaska, especially Jorge, a Chilean biker who biked alone from the southern tip of South America to the Beaufort Sea! Billie and her son, Walter, made me feel at home, and I enjoyed their company. I will return, and will also tell my friend in our village about this gem!
