「When I arrived I was told the hotel was closed. I took pictures to prove I was there as I had already paid through Expedia. I then had a ‘neighbour’ show up to ‘offer’ alternate accommodation at a very much more cost! The hotel is on a back street and when confronted with having to find an option on the day when I was hoping to visit the palace I conceded to the higher price. This was classic ‘bait & switch! Do not ever book this hotel!!!!」

「Danu's homestay is the real experience. 5 star service with many smiles. If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. The family are absolutely loving,kind and generous. Make sure you have dinner with them. One of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka. Now for the suprise...

「Not usually a review scribe but sometimes you just feel compelled to. 5 stars does not do justice to Dinesh and family. Immaculately clean, helpful to a fault, nothing is too difficult to organize on your behalf and OMG the breakfast is more fit for a king than us minions. Look no further if you want a hassle free stay with some (no exaggeration) of the nicest people on this world of ours. 」

「The garden around the property was tranquil. It was a lovely, peaceful area to relax in. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. The host and his family couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. They made our stay a real pleasure.」

「This guest house is overrated and overpriced for the quality. Its service was mediocre. The room cleanliness was bearable one but far below the level of the tourist hotel. Sigiriya Rock is not far though tuktuk from there required 3 times the normal price of taxi app.」

「This property is in the middle of nowhere so there it comes the magic. I can’t complain about slow and poor wifi or power issues since this isn’t a hotel but a home stay. The family hosting is among the best people you could ever meet, very attentive with guests and providing an excellent service and serving a tasty land grown food. We really enjoyed our time there, certainly a place to disconnect in the middle of the island 」

「The property is in the lap of nature surrounded by fruiting plants and peacocks. It's an excellent getaway from the hustle of fast-paced city life. The best part was the host who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. As we arrived, he plucked fresh passion fruits from his garden and made juice for us. For lunch, he arranged delicious home-cooked Sri Lankan food. For dinner, we requested grilled chicken and he arranged that as well at reasonable price. He also arranged a safari driver...
