The ground floor features a lovely open-plan lounge and dining area with views over the loch, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. The cosy kitchen provides everything needed for preparing home-cooked meals, ensuring a comfortable and relaxed stay. You have the Loch out the back of the cottage and in front of the cottage is the Talisker Distillery which is Scotland’s oldest working distillery. The Fairy Pools are a short drive where you will find Crystal-clear waterfalls in Glen Brittle, where the water has come down off the Cuillin Mountains forming these pools which are ideal for wild swimming and photography.
The township of Dunvegan is close by, with a few shops and restaurants, alongside Dunvegan Castle and Gardens which is the ancestral home of the Clan MacLeod (tours are available). Further on from the Castle is Coral Beach which is made up of crushed white coral and the water looks tropical blue when the sun comes out.
For those who are looking to enjoy some walking Skye is full of lovely walks for all levels. One of Skye’s most iconic spots is Neist Point in Waterstein, Glendale, featuring a dramatic lighthouse and incredible sunset views. There is also a Trig Walk out to Waterstein Head where you can see the Sea Eagles. Oronsay Tidal Island Walk is a scenic coastal hike from Ullinish, Talisker Bay walk is a short but rewarding stroll to a secluded beach with black sand and towering cliffs.
MacLeod’s Tables are a more challenging hill walk with panoramic views of the Cuillin mountains, while The Cuillin Range is tailored to more experienced hikers offering some of Scotland’s most dramatic trekking routes and Munro’s.
