What a lovely vista from the hill the lodge is perched on! The bed was comfortable, all was quiet, and we liked being able to cook ourselves breakfast to augment the continental offerings in the lobby.

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The views of the surrounding foothills were gorgeous. Kitchenette and bathroom were very clean. The carpet in our room was stained and had an odor to it, though.

Staff were amazing. Kind and considerate and gave us everything we needed. Property was very clean. If I was to be picky, only thing not-clean-ish was carpet in room which could use some cleaning. But otherwise would definitely stay again.

My earlier concern of door to room hard to open turned out to be my issue of being left handed!!!! However we did encounter our coffee maker not working and when brought to the attention of staff, were very willing to replace. Staff was definitely helpful.

Beautiful view from lodge itself.. grounds well groomed. Room ok. We were in dark room with ground view. Rug stained and no blankets in room. Booked through Expedia and despite one of 3 couples in the entire lodge, when we asked for a king bed we were told that there were none available. Also told by front desk personnel that a third party booking will put you in less desired rooms. ? Like really? We stayed 2 nights and booked it weeks ago. Maybe not worth the price for two nights during the week with what we got. Breakfast was store bought muffins, coffee machine, pretty blah.

Staff excellent room is large. Only negatives the water pressure in the shower poor. The room lighting very poor. Two small lamps lower than bed level. One didn't work. No lights near the heat/air unit.

Absolutely LOVED this place. Inside & out are just beautiful! I wish the hot tub was open when we arrived. After a long drive, I was really looking forward to it. Also, there wasn't a single roll of tp in our room when we got there.

This was a getaway that was planned for seeing Cooperstown and all that the little town had to offer. The August Lodge is amazing and made this trip so much more than we could ever ask for. The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home every day. The views were spectacular and we spent our evenings on our patio watching the eagles soar around the mountains. Thank you August staff for making our birthday, anniversary and Mother’s Day vacation a lifetime of great memories.
