Franklyn D. Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"
I recently sent my mom to Franklyn D. Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica to celebrate her 69th birthday, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience she had there. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her like royalty. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive.
They truly went above and beyond to make her birthday special. They decorated her chair with beautiful gold and black balloons and surprised her with a full birthday cake. What touched me even more was their kindness when she wasn’t feeling well one day—someone from the resort personally took her to the pharmacy to make sure she was okay. That level of care meant the world to me.
Franklyn D. Resort may not advertise itself as a five-star luxury hotel, but the treatment and hospitality they provide is absolutely five-star. If you are traveling with family, kids, celebrating a birthday, or even sending an elderly loved one to relax, you can rest assured they will be in good hands—even if traveling alone.
Thank you to the amazing team at Franklyn D. Resort for making my mom’s birthday unforgettable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for genuine Jamaican hospitality and heartfelt service.

Morgans cliff
10/10 Excellent
"Morgan’s Cliff in Ocho Rios is an exceptional place to stay and an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality from the owner and the staff was outstanding. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay comfortable and memorable.
The accommodations are beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and very well maintained. The property itself is peaceful and serene, surrounded by nature and stunning views that make it easy to truly relax and unplug. Every detail contributes to a calm, private atmosphere that feels worlds away from the crowds.
This is a perfect choice for adults seeking a quiet getaway with more privacy and a personal touch, especially for travelers who prefer an alternative to the massive all inclusive resorts or Jamaicans seeking a lovely staycation. We highly recommend Morgan’s Cliff and would happily return."

Sea Shell Palms
4/10 Poor
"I rarely write reviews, but future guests considering this hotel in Ocho Rios should know what we experienced. We stayed here during a Christmas holiday vacation, but it became one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.
During our stay, the hotel shut off the water to the entire property — not low pressure, but no running water at all. That meant no showers, no sinks. What made this even worse was that the hotel never warned guests this would happen. There was no notice or communication.
At the same time, the hotel WiFi did not work for our entire stay. For international travelers staying in Ocho Rios, reliable internet is a basic necessity, yet this hotel could not provide it.
When we tried to speak with hotel staff and cancel the remainder of our stay due to the lack of basic utilities, no attendants were available to help us. The security on property could only help to their extent. Office staff were completely unavailable when we needed assistance over the holidays.
Afterwards, the hotel blamed a recent hurricane. However, we stayed at other hotels in Jamaica during the same trip where both water and WiFi worked perfectly. At no point before or during check-in did this hotel communicate that these services would not be available.
The hotel has also refused to offer compensation or respond to calls about a refund.
No water. No WiFi. No communication. Extremely disappointing for a hotel stay during the holiday when guests are paying premium rates."
