If you enjoy paying five-star prices for what feels more like a hostel experience, then this hotel might be for you. I could barely sleep because of the constant creaking and noise coming from the rooms above. In the morning, I was woken up very early by housekeeping, and on my last night, a very loud fire alarm went off around 1:30 a.m., waking me up in the middle of the night. To top it all off, the toilet was already clogged on my first day, even though I had barely used it. Luckily, I noticed before actually needing it properly, otherwise the situation could have been quite embarrassing. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially considering the very high price. The quality of the stay was nowhere near what I would expect at this price point.

Ive stayed once before with no issues, hence why I rebooked. This visit, they honored a specific room request which I was very appreciative of, but once we got into the room, it smelled terrible. They moved us to another room, and we heard the garbage trucks picking up trash and banging trash carriers. Then the fire alarm went off and stayed on for a bit. We could hear people in the room next door. **the original room we requested was VERY quiet, so the stay may have been very different had that room smelled acceptable. The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful and the location is great.

I love this place. Very classy and clean. We waited until the last night to enjoy the nightly jazz in their lobby. It was one of our favorite experiences on the trip. It felt like a surreal step into yesteryear with all of the comforts of today. What a clasy place. The staff was great, especially the woman who greeted us the first day and happened to be there when I made a request a day before we left. She was excellent but I never got her name. Her treatment alone will make me remember the great experience at the Betsy. Loved it! S

I highly recommend the Betsy! The staff is so helpful, so kind etc., and they are truly SO dog friendly and the restaurant is wonderful. It's far better than anything near its price range on ocean ave. I can't wait to go back!

The rooms were clean and well maintained.  AC works great for sure!  Beds were super comfortable.   Do not book the balcony as it is not as pictured or worth it; The Alley is anything but peaceful at night.  They have several very comfortable seating areas instead.  The garden in the center is under appreciated; give me a blanket and a book and leave me be.  I could spend all day there if it wasn't for the beach! Both pools were overrun by small children.  Consider making the rooftop 18+ after 2:00 or the like.   Best: location for the beach, food, walking, shopping, and people watching. An umbrella and two chairs were included in the $58 per day resort fee.  Shout out to Alicia and the beach crew!  They were absolutely helpful in every way possible.  The library/book selection was extensive and a joy to stroll through.   Worst: the elevator situation.  Ask to stay in the building facing the beach, not the back building.  Also ask to NOT be put in the first room outside the elevators, you will hear the ding of the bell all day and night.  These are located too close together.  Overall: with a few minor adjustments, I will definitely be back.  It really provided the peace needed.  Absolutely recommend The Betsy!

The service was the best, juan was helpful and kind. Everyone honestly. Location is great, infront of the beach. The decor was lovely. They have evening jazz and musical performance like flaminco. They have a michelin star chef.

We got to the hotel around noon the day we were to check in just hoping we could drop our luggage off. George at reception went out of his way to offer us water and checked us into our room early. He was extremely helpful with all our questions. The hotel is beautiful and very unique. The staff and the services they provide to their guest is outstanding.

I really wanted to love my stay at The Betsy because it is a beautiful hotel in an amazing South Beach location. The property has so much charm, the rooftop is lovely, and there were definitely parts of our stay that we enjoyed. Unfortunately, the biggest issue during our three-night stay was the repeated problem with the elevators. There were several times when we had to use the stairs, and because I have chronic asthma, this was much more than a minor inconvenience for me. I did bring the issue to the hotel’s attention. The front desk was courteous, and I later spoke with the General Manager, Christopher. The hotel waived our resort fees, comped our rooftop lunch, provided breakfast, and offered a future stay at 30% off with an upgrade, which I appreciated. However, for a hotel at this price point, I do think reliable elevator access should be a basic expectation, especially for guests who may have health or mobility concerns. Because the issue continued throughout our stay, it definitely affected my overall experience. The Betsy is a beautiful property with a lot going for it, but I hope management takes the elevator reliability issue seriously because it can significantly impact a guest’s stay. Loved meeting Betsy and Jonathan and I need to acknowledge some of the staff members that made my stay better: Art, Juan, Josimar, Dina and Gustavo!
