As far as being centrally located to Biscayne and Everglades National Parks I give this place a 10. And communication with the host was easy and quick. Unfortunately, the house left a bit to be desired. We booked our stay for 10 days/9 nights and was drawn to this home because it had a washer/dryer and a bbq (eating out gets old fast!). There were only enough briquettes for one meal, and that was only after we cleaned the dirty bbq. There wasn’t any laundry detergent for the washer, and also no dish soap to hand wash any dishes. Only one garbage bag was provided and a half roll of paper towels (definitely not enough for. 10-day stay). I’m also used to having some kitchen staples provided (salt, pepper, cooking oil, aluminum foil). There were plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils and pans but those little extras go a long way. Lastly, the “queen” bed was actually a queen bed frame and box spring with a full size mattress on top. We would have slept in the other rooms but those mattresses were very uncomfortable. A few other things that could benefit from some attention are the curtains on the slider that kept falling down, and the broken lock that was “fixed” by putting a piece of wood in the door jamb. The house was adequate but could definitely use some updating to make it more comfortable and some TLC to make it more homey.
