A bit sketchy….

Staff at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. I was only there for a few hours hoping to get a nap before my flight home and they allowed me to check in a bit early, which I really appreciated. As far as the hostel itself, it felt less like a hostel and more like a sketchy hotel. There are a few people staying there that are on government benefits, so be ready for that. I was happy to be able to take a short nap before my flight but I doubt I would return for an overnight stay.

South Beach Weekend

Everything was enjoyable, friendly staff, great breakfast and dinner included in the stay. Literally like maybe a 3-4 minute walk to the beachfront, and also a a lot of places to eat at and choose from.

When you come ask for Kate, she will give you the true hostel experience. You get what you pay for, there is no closer and cheaper way to experience the REAL south beach. Would stay again in a heartbeat just would bring my own can of raid is all. Thanks again to Kate and the team for hosting me and caring about my safety as a solo woman traveler!

Classic Old School hostel. Close walk to the beach. Friendly staff. Basic amenities are provided. Clean towel, bed sheets and covers are provided. Room service staff cleans room and deliver amenities every morning. Old historical building but overall clean environment. There’s a kitchen and Rec area in the basement. Wifi worked great. You’ll share a room and share your space, and meet people from all over the place, if booked in advance great value. Would come back.

Overall good, quiet stay.

Check in was ol, room clean but felt a little musty. Breakfast was cereal which i had to comment to the fromt desk.that i saw the lady open the package with her teeth to pour into the container. Good thing i dont eat cereal. I had black coffe and bought something outside. I like staying here for the convenience.

Initially, my expectations weren't fully met upon arrival, but considering the budget-friendly price, I found the experience quite satisfactory. The accommodation served its purpose well as a place to rest and prepare for the day ahead. Conveniently located near various amenities, including personal and communal appliances like fridges and FREE breakfast options, it offered decent value despite some minor issues. If I could comfortably stay for two weeks, anyone can manage. It's right around the corner to all vibrant and lit clubs, beaches, and other attractions, along with the friendly staff and fellow guests, making for an enjoyable experience. Overall, I had a great time and appreciate the hospitality extended to me.

Great location 2 short blocks to the beach and restaurants & clubs on Ocean Dr, Washington & Collins Sts. Very close to bus stops. Other area beaches accessible by bus. Free local trolley. Easy access from Ft Lauderdale Int’l Airport on bus with 1 transfer, #1 from airport, transfer at Aventura Mall to #100 all the way to just steps from the hostel. Lobby has art deco charm in architecture. Rooms have a secure locker that will hold an airport sized “personal item” like a smaller backpack, bring your own padlock. Rooms are all male, all female, or mixed, and have bunk beds. Separate room with toilet, sink & tub with shower head within each shared room. Lounge areas, and a kitchen to store your own food to cook for yourself. Had great roommates thru the whole 2 weeks and made lifelong friends. Great vibe on a budget vacay. It’s not the Marriott, and the price reflects that, but when your plan is to explore the area and come back to sleep, it’s perfect.

You get what you pay for not much .Check was easy my room was shared with three others nothing fancy but could be up dated .Breakfast was basic but I was pleased just to get some hot tea ,didn't like that it was only for one hour from 7am to 8am .Housekeeping was ok ,my issues were the beer and urine smell in front the building where men crowded often all during the day .It seemed like a lot of people actually lived there and went to work .The one refrigerator that they have for all the guest to stored food is crazy ,people complained about food being taken by others and personal items stolen from their room .There is so much more .I've stayed at many Hostels this one needs a lot of improvements .The location is great close to the bus ,trolley the beach and Ocean Drive.I wouldn't return but if you don't care go see for yourself .

A little disappointed....

The only good thing about my stay was the location of the hostel. It was in the heart of all shopping, dining and blocks away from the beach. Check In was a breeze and the staff was amazing. However, the room that I stayed in with the rest of the men could have been better. I understand that it is a hostel and not a personal room. However I have stayed in many hostels where the room had a contemporary, fresh and clean look. Unfortunately, that was not the case with this room. The bathroom definitely needs to be remodeled along with the whole room in general. I was not able to lock my stuff up even after purchasing a lock. I am thankful that I didn't have to worry about my stuff being missing. In addition I saw a couple of roaches in the kitchen area. I brought this issue to the staff's attention and was informed that an exterminator was booked to take care of the issue but that would happen after I checked out. Then one of the men that was staying in room stated that he found roaches underneath his bed. He was supposed to check out on the same day as me but checked out early. This is my first negative review that I have left on here regarding a stay. As much I was was willing to overlook certain things, the roach issue is something that I cannot overlook
