Lovely country hotel

Very attractive hotel, nice rooms and very clean. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast.

We had a problem with the first room we were assigned. Within 10 minutes they had come to check It out. When they could not fix it, they moved us to another room which was a larger room. The entire facility was clean and well kept. It was a lovely inn out in the country with easy access to the freeway.

Beautiful hotel and terrace

In a beautiful location just a short drive from Trier. We had a triple room with the single bed in a separate room from the double bed which is extremely rare in a triple room. Everything in the room was top notch - comfortable beds, spacious, excellent shower room. Breakfast and dinner were both very good and it was great to eat dinner on the terrace next to the water wheel.

First off this hotel was great. We had stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The hotel staff were so friendly, nice, and welcoming. They all spoke English which made it very easy to ask questions or order food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was all delicious and the scenery around the hotel is so peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were clean, beds comfy, house keeping was great, and overall the property is very well kept. If you are traveling to Mertesdorf or trier I would recommend this small but wonderful hotel to anyone!

Nice place to stay and wander around!

We had a very relaxed stay at the Karlsmühle: the staff is great and everything is well organised! Very good bed! The wine and the food are tasty! The location is super: around the Weingut it’s nice to wander around and Trier is nearby! I recommend this place!

Quite basic. We where hoping for a cozy smaller hotel at a wineyard, but it’s just a very basic hotel in the middle of nowhere. Theres nice outdoor seating, but we really had to insist on being able to sit there, as it seemed inconvenient for the servers. All waiters spoke French to us, even though they understood our English. Great if you just want a place to stay for the night, but not if you are on the lookout for a cozy place to hang and enjoy.

Das Hotel liegt idyllisch zwischen Weinbergen. Hier kann man direkt entspannen. Das Personal begrüßt herzlich, sodass man sich direkt willkommen fühlt. Die Zimmer sind wie angegeben. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Im ganzen haben sowohl wir, als auch unsere zwei Hunde sich sehr wohl gefühlt und können gerne wieder, wenn es und erneut nach Trier verschlägt. Empfehlung: Gerne auch den eigenen Wein probieren und durch die hauseigene Jagd auch mal Wild im Restaurant bestellen.

Sehr geehrtes Team des Hotel-Weingut Karlsmühle, herzlichen Dank für meinen Aufenthalt! Insgesamt war es eine wundervolle Erfahrung. Ich habe die Sauberkeit und den Komfort der Zimmer, insbesondere die hervorragenden Matratzen, sehr geschätzt. Die tierfreundliche Atmosphäre war ein zusätzlicher Pluspunkt. Das "grosse" Frühstück (etwas irreführend) war lecker, aber ich hätte mir etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht - deshalb meine Empfehlung nur Frühstück. Besonders gut haben mir die Rühreier und der gebratene Speck geschmeckt. Die Freundlichkeit Ihres Personals und die Möglichkeit, draußen zu sitzen, haben meinen Aufenthalt bereichert. Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag: Im Außenbereich des Biergartens wurde der Kaffee in Tassen serviert, die nur zu etwas mehr als einem Drittel gefüllt waren. Eine vollere Tasse würde das Kaffeevergnügen erheblich steigern. Ihr Restaurant war ein Highlight mit einer tollen Auswahl an Speisen und Weinen, und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war sehr gut. Kann ich nicht empfehlen. Der Chef hatte uns ein „Upgrade“ des Zimmers angeboten. Wir waren sehr erfreut, bis wir zum angebotenen Zimmer kamen — sozusagen auf eine Baustelle in der es noch nach allen möglichen Baustoffen stank. Natürlich fühlten wir uns „verarscht“. Wir haben dies moniert und glücklicherweise ein anderes Zimmer bekommen. Die Art und Weise, wie der „Chef“ auf uns als Hotelgäste gewirkt hat, schien er sichtlich genervt zu sein. Wir fühlten uns in diesem Hotel nicht gerade willkommen.☹️
