Hibiscus House is a stunning retreat tucked away in a lovely residential neighborhood in the charming little beach town of Melbourne Beach. Florida is quite hot this time of year but upon stepping inside this home, you're immediately cool and comfortable. The home is open and airy, complete with a good central air conditioner and ceiling fans. This was a working vacation for me so I used the WiFi quite a bit without any issues at all. The pictures on this listing are an accurate representation of this beautifully decorated home. The floors are Parkay - gorgeous and must be original... the real thing. The bedding is plush and very comfortable. The bed in the master is actually adjustable. All linens were fresh and top quality. The kitchen had enough cookware that I was able to prepare anything I needed. The bikes and beach chairs were a great bonus. I rode one of the bikes to the nearby Melbourne Beach Pier to enjoy the sunset. Each morning I walked to the beach for sunrise. I brought my paddleboard on this trip so I drove to the public beach access on Ocean Avenue which is less than two miles from the house. The beach chair came in handy, as did the beach towels - they even provided sun screen! The driveway is located at the rear of the home. I was able to bring my paddleboard inside as the back room is where they keep the bikes, a beach tent, the beach towels, etc. There was plenty of room for my board - which is 11' long so I didn't have to worry about it. There is an outdoor shower which made it easy to clean my board and get the sand off of me before coming in the house. This is an exceptionally quiet getaway. You see neighbors walking by and riding by on bikes, some with young children. It just feels good - so much so that you can imagine living here. Lastly, along Ocean Avenue are some neat little restaurants, a liquor store, and the amazing Melbourne Beach Supermarket with all kinds of international fare and a HUGE wine inventory. One the west end of Ocean Avenue is the Indian River and the east end is the ocean. There's a great playground, the little town hall, a historic house, the fire department - it's simply as charming as charming can be. I'm pretty familiar with this area so I can truly say, this VRBO is a gem. The only problem, you won't want to leave.
