About this property
Off the Grid Eco Lodge
This unique eco-lodge is totally “off the grid”. It was awarded the Blacket Award for outstanding architectural merit, outside of Metropolitan Sydney, by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Using the latest in eco-friendly technology, it is extremely energy efficient. The Eco Lodge consists of 2 double bedrooms that open onto the mountain grasses. Each enjoys a separate bathroom. There is also a study that sleeps 3 (1 bunk bed and another small single bed).
Set into the side of the mountain, the lodge is perched above the river and allows you to enjoy the Australian landscape in comfort. Wake up to watch the morning mist roll over the mountain ridge. Enjoy your morning breakfast on the sun drenched deck or picnic by the river. Extensive bush walking tracks, swimming holes and picnic spots.
Cox's River Rest
Cox's River Rest is set on approximately 1600 acres. It is a mix of grazing paddocks and untamed Australian bushland, and is bounded by a 5 kilometre loop in the Cox's River. The Eco Lodge is an eco-friendly accommodation option on Cox's River Rest.
This secluded bush escape is situated in the Megalong Valley, only 30 minutes drive from Blackheath in the Blue Mountains (about 1.5-2 hours drive from Sydney). Hidden at the end of the valley and right on the river - bring your mountain walking shoes, great books, good food and some good Aussie wine and have a ball!
The property is easily accessible and conveniently close to all the wonderful things the Blue Mountains has to offer, but it also has walks and scenery of its own more than enough to occupy your whole weekend. Maps and ideas are provided at the lodge for your information.
SOME FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS GUESTS:
Awesome place.. loved it! This was exactly the place I wanted to book - far away from the city but close enough to get there within 2-3 hours. The accommodation was excellent and the surrounding countryside gorgeous..! Karan

Rivers' edge hideaway heaven Too many highlights to mention...but a few were; the gorgeous drive down from blackheath through the forest, the ponies, the fireplace, the river, the views, the warmth [this house is so well designed..heats up so easily & stays warm all night], the gorgeous black cows ,the roo's, painting the scenery, picnic up on the ridge, the flying fox over the river, the river sounding like the ocean all night long, the loo's, the fresh air, the fresh air inside the house too- no toxic chemicals, the toast rack is neat, the rocks, and last but not least - the heidi loft bed - dreamy spot for reading and having a nap. Excellent property We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, almost like camping with all the luxuries. We will consider going back again. Only worry we had was the fear of snakes ( as warned in the information pack) as children running around. Jude

Stunning The Lodge-Think of your favourite shoes-Cosy,comfortable and unpretentious. The location-simply stunning. Perched sixty metres above a pristine river with wombats, echidna ,roo's and platypus as your companions. As a seasoned world traveller I struggle to come up with a comparable location. For retirees or families wanting adventure in a safe environment then this is for you. John

Peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful location Quaint little lodge set on a picturesque bush farm by the river. It was very comfortable and clean. We spent our time reading and relaxing and just taking in the beautiful surroundings. The lodge was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catered break.
