"We arrived very late due to a difficult journey but were received in good humour. We needed a room on a floor close to the ground because our three dogs who came with us and we were swiftly moved from the 5th to 2nd floor despite it being close on midnight. We then having sorted ourselves out and took the dogs for a walk from which we did not return until 2am. The night porter was extremely patient. "The Novotel in Clermont-Ferrand was conveniently just off the autoroute. Good protected parking and very efficient check-in. (And they are DOG FRIENDLY). Rooms are what you expect, although our room was way too warm and even we couldn't regulate the temperature satisfactorily. Not sure what was going on, but the thermostat was not responding. The best part: The food offerings at the Novotel are excellent. A very good bar menu of bistro fare, including Croque Monsieurs. But the...
