「After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered. I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop. It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper. Michelle and David were especially lovely: 10/10 would recommen. 」

However, as a hotel there were definitely concerns and functional issues. If it had been more than one night, we would have demanded a refund and left. 「駅からわりと近い。建物は古い。床が傾いた状態でレストアしとるんで歩くのに慣れが必要。当然エレベーター無し。水回りは綺麗で暖房は十分快適。しかし部屋が古くベッド配置等に無理がありスーツケース広げるのに苦労する。タオルと寝具は清潔に見える。『部屋で飲食するな』との注意書き。そのためか湯沸かしポットと茶葉カップ類は変なところに置いてる。朝食は立派なフル英国風。スタッフは純朴で親切。これでも少し安かったら嬉しいのに。」

「Such a treat to stay at this location! The staff and food were amazing and the lodge was like a step back in time, but with all the modern amenities. I stayed in the sweetest room that was just perfect for my needs. The sound of the rushing water from the river was constant and soothing and could be heard from all corners and areas of the facility. Very well worth every effort made to be there.」
