"Rooms clean, staff friendly, good service and always with a smile. Never seems crowded and always sunbeds etc available. Not much for kids to do although we don’t have kids I would say this is more of an adults destination in general. We stayed after doing safari in Kenya and paid less than those booking a package and then doing day safaris to mainland. So booking separately works out better all round. Beach is tidal and a walk on the reef with a local is well worth it discuss a price or give $10-$20 and I guarantee you will see more than walking alone"

They remembered our names throughout our stay, which added such a personal touch and made us feel genuinely at home from day one. Our room was beautiful, especially with its sea view and bathtub, making it the perfect place to relax after each day. The housekeeping team work incredibly hard and consistently go above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect. A special thank you to David at the bar, whose service was exceptional throughout our stay. He was always happy to create cocktails tailored to our personal tastes, and his banana smoothies are simply the best! A special mention also goes to Mrisha, who regularly looked after us on the beach, taking and delivering our drinks with a smile. It was another example of the attentive service that makes this resort so special. Martin and Issac in the restaurant were wonderful hosts—kind, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. Every meal was a pleasure, and although we’ve mentioned them by name, every member of the restaurant team was first class. In fact, every member of staff across the resort deserves recognition. "Mizingani Seafront Hotel is an atmospheric, character-filled heritage hotel in a wonderful Stone Town location. It is not a modern, polished resort-style property, and that is really part of its appeal. The charm is in the old-world Zanzibar feel: the carved timber, arched balconies, tiled details, sea views, inner courtyard and slightly labyrinthine layout of rooms, staircases and quiet corners. The property has a real sense of place. You feel the history of Stone Town around you, while still being close to the waterfront, Forodhani Gardens, the ferry area and the main sights. The courtyard pool area is especially lovely — almost hidden away from the busy seafront — and gives the hotel a calm, intimate feel. For travellers who enjoy atmosphere, heritage architecture and a property with genuine character rather than something sleek and generic, Mizingani is a memorable place to stay."
