Amazing, beautiful place would highly recommend staying as a romantic getaway for two or family with children. A lot of beautiful locations on the property to take pictures with a Michelin restaurant on site.
A little town walking distance to grab food or 30 minute drive to Aix en Provence which would highly recommend as well
The staff was helpful. The rooms were very Victorian and accommodated our whole family.
We very much enjoyed our stay. It’s a peaceful and beautiful place!
What made it truly special, however, was the warm and personal atmosphere created by the wonderful team. From the friendly Front Desk staff to the attentive breakfast team and the lovely service at the restaurant in the evening, everyone made us feel welcome and well looked after. We would gladly stay here again.
Loved this beautiful property and pool and had the most wonderful meal at the restaurant! The town is very cute and easily walkable. We hope to visit again.
Staff were 10/10! So helpful and kind! My room was clean and the bath tub was amazing. The food was next level and I enjoyed having room service. My massage was also fantastic and relaxing. Would highly recommend this entire establishment.
Amazing bastide converted to a shabby chic hotel. Dinner at the restaurant (1 Michelin star) was an amazing experience. If only it is easy to make another reservation without a hotel stay.
The rooms were nice had a small issue with the first one but was taken care of immediately not even 10 minutes after the complaint, which was really nice to see how it attempted. other than that this is one of the most beautiful place after that, the staff is wonderful The peacefulness though is far from everywhere, but God knows how much I needed it just to be at peace and they spa sauna everything they provide. It’s just extra extraordinary. Had a great time will recommend especially for solo traveler who has tried to be on their own, but still feel safe to do so
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. I was not ready to come home needed more time just to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful place
This is a beautiful property and the chef is amazing! When traveling to Europe, I like to feel like I’m staying in Europe, and La Magdeleine has so much character and charm! We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful place, the area around the hotel and hotels itself were so unique. Bit pricey but you do get great experience. Quality of food was also outstanding.
Lovely hotel. Need to upgrade wifi access for rooms. Staff was delightful.

Lovely Hotel
Very nice hotel, but could use some renovating. The mattresses were not supportive so sleep was somewhat difficult. Staff was gracious and helpful. If was quite hot, but sadly, the A/C system had not been turned on for the season yet. A quick walk to Gemenos village and restaurants. Nicely situated between Aix and Marseilles.
We arrived to a room that wasn’t ready at our confirmed 4pm check-in. The bathroom dispensers were empty — we had to call down to have them filled. On arrival a charcuterie and cheese board was brought to us; no one mentioned it cost €66 until it appeared on the bill.
The real problem was the heat. With the AC set to 18°C, my own thermometer read 28°C overnight and 26°C the next day. Two nights of barely sleeping. When I raised it with the manager the following morning, she was dismissive from the outset — no apology, no goodwill, just an insistence that nothing was wrong and that 18°C isn’t realistic in a Provençal summer. I never asked for 18. I asked for a room cooler than the air outside at night.
The only thing offered in person was a €200 suite upgrade. Paying more for air conditioning I’d already booked wasn’t something I was willing to do. A free same-category room came later via Expedia; we’d already unpacked and stayed put.
Equipment fails. The response to it is what separates a five-star property from a nice building. Avoid in summer unless heat doesn’t bother you.
