Novotel Malta Sliema

"The room and common facilities are quite new and finished to a nice standard. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-designed, though the shower has a noticeable design flaw that causes it to constantly flood the bathroom floor. The hotel is also in an excellent location, with plenty of restaurants, transport links, and groceries right on the doorstep. Unfortunately, the service and management fell well short of expectations for a Novotel. We arrived to check in at the designated time (2:00 PM) only to be told our room wasn't ready. When we pushed back and noted that this wasn't acceptable, a room was suddenly available, with the receptionist claiming it just hadn't updated on their system yet. The leisure facilities are structurally nice, but the pool area was extremely crowded. This could be because management allows non-guests to pay a fee to use it, which ruins the experience for paying hotel residents. Furthermore, when we asked for beach towels, we were abruptly told that taking towels off the premises isn't allowed. Overall, it was a nice stay and the property had great hardware and a strong location, but the hospitality was slightly below expectation."

"Our stay at Central Guest House was very enjoyable. The room was large and comfortable and furnished appropriately for our visit. While we did not cook, the kitchen was well equipped with both oven and microwave and utensils, pots and pans, and serving pieces were readily available. The breakfasts were specially cooked for you and they were amazing in appearance, quality, and quantity--very large portions. There were many options for your choice. We particularly liked the vegetarian options and especially the veggie muffins. Location was good! Bus stops were very convenient, with just a short walk down hill, with access to many different routes at the stops. Busses were very reasonable, especially with a multiple day travel pass. We, however, really enjoyed the short 15-20 minute walk into the central city of Valletta, which we took most of the time. Restaurants of many different kinds were convenient, as were most of the major highlights of the city. Walking through different neighborhoods was an interesting way to become more familiar with the city, yet bus stop access gave you many choices. WiFi worked well. There were a couple of small restaurants and a food store close by to the Central Guest House. We also enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and seeing many of the churches and shrines."

"The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful when asked for information about the hotel facilities and dining options on the various restaurants on different floors of the hotel. They also gave us information about the various tours and activities available in Valeta and surrounding areas."

"Msida is ideally located between Valetta and Sliema. Valetta has beautiful architecture and shops and municipal offices, as well as a gorgeous view of the harbour. Sliema is where the main shopping is. It had plenty of restaurants and where the tours go from. Msida is where noon visitors stay but it's only 10-15 minutes from either location at the most. The apartment itself was fantastic. It was a home away from home and very private. It's safe and I would definitely recommend."

"This hotel is truly exceptional, from the moment we checked in to (sadly) leaving, it was an absolutely perfect stay. Staff and owner were all gorgeous people - so helpful, friendly and chilled. Bed was super comfy, hotel itself is beautifully bohemian and traditionally Maltese and amenities were a bonus - loved the rooftop bar with its stunning views. Perfectly located for accessing Valetta but in a quieter location. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next visit to Malta. Thank you all so much for such a positive and relaxing experience ❤️"

"Parking is a huge issue, do not rent a car if you don’t have to. The walls are paper thin and you could hear almost everything next door. I was thankful that everyone respected quiet time though. I walked for blocks and blocks and wasn’t able to find a coffee shop anywhere. There is a big mall about a 20 walk that had most everything."
