The home and surroundings were the perfect place for our family of 4 to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The owners were extremely gracious and hospitable, as well. We look forward to returning in the near future. Pura Vida!

Jungle paradise

Jungle Roost is simply beautiful. A real jungle paradise. Close to the beautiful beaches and Manuel Antonio Park. The house has everything you need. We enjoyed the pool every day. We saw howler monkeys and squirrel monkeys crossing above the property. Ismael, our host, is simply the best. You will never have a host provide such amazing VIP experience. He helped us with car rentals, private chefs, excursions and more. He made sure we had everything we needed to have a perfect stay. We are so thankful and would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the Jungle Roost.

Jungle get-a-way

We loved this place. The location was wonderful. We were greeted when we arrived and shown how to use the property which was very nice. It is very private. We saw monkeys and a sloth right on the property. Perfect!

Jungle Roost Surpassed Our Expectations

This is a quiet location away from the noises of cars and traffic. The home is very comfortable and had easy access to everything we needed. The yard is absolutely awesome with birds, monkeys and beautiful flowers and trees. The pool and water fall were very attractive and enjoyable; providing a fun way to relax after the days activities. Our expectations were more than surpassed.

Perfect Family Vacation Home

We are so thankful for Ismael and Francesca allowing us to stay in their beautiful home! They were incredible hosts and gave us so many wonderful recommendations. We had the most amazing family vacation! Our favorite part about the house was all the wildlife we saw right in the backyard. The monkeys and agoutis visited us everyday. We were close to food, the beach and the national park.The house itself was clean and beautifully designed. It had everything we needed. It was perfect for our family!

Wonderful Location

Loved the house and it's amenities - pool and AC. It has comfortable beds, which is a plus. Beautiful location. The town was really cool with plenty of places to shop and eat. We loved the beaches and there is a lot to explore locally and within a short drive. We traveled with our kids and my in-laws. The house was perfect for us all.

Jungle Roost is a Hidden Gem

Nestled in the Jungle and surrounded by a lush, private landscape, Jungle Roost is the perfect escape from the everyday. With 3 lovely rooms, multiple patios, and balconies and a clean and refreshing pool — it is the ideal spot from which to explore beautiful Manuel Antonio. Francesca and Ismael are wonderful hosts and were happy to provide recommendations and facilitate reservations. We fell in love with Jungle Roost and left feeling that Francesca and Ismael (and the many monkeys that visited us at JR) were new friends!

A true gem

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay and are grateful we had the opportunity to spend time at Jungle Roost. The pics on VRBO are amazing but still don't do the property justice. Beautiful Jungle Roost!

Amazing jungle landscaped yard and perfect pool. One visits glorious Costa Rica to enjoy the amazing flora & fauna and if lucky come face to face with animals in their natural habitat. Jungle Roost checks all these boxes. Our family was visited daily by sloths, monkeys and iguanas while floating in the pool and relaxing on the deck. It’s a perfect location close to restaurants but tucked away in a family friendly jungle setting.

Relax and have fun

We loved the access to the beach. We relaxed in the pool everyday. We were in awe of the surroundings and wildlife- monkeys, sloth, and other creatures. The property mgr, Ismael, was extremely helpful and available to assist. He offered great tips and insight to the area. He even secured a private dance lesson and yoga at our request. We definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive. Our family vacation here was a huge success! 😊

Perfect stay!

The house was beautiful! Kitchen was well equipped, lots of room, pool was clean & larger than expected. We saw a sloth & monkeys at the house. Luis was exceptional! He made the stay very comfortable & helped arrange all our excursions. Would highly recommend. Only downfall is the hike to the beach. It’s very steep & a difficult trip with children. We rented a taxi the rest of the week to take us to the beach & back home at a fair price.

Excellent location to everything you want to do in Manuel Antonio and the house was perfect for our stay. The place had a great pool and outside area for relaxing and having your meals. The host, Francesca, was fabulous, as she constantly kept in contact with us and provided us with all the amenities Manuel has to offer. As a matter of fact, having stayed at many many VRBO properties, she was by far and away the best at staying in touch. So, if your looking for a great host and a nice hidden spot that captures the wild jungle nature experience, this is the place to go. Thank you Francesca!!

Best family vacation ever!!

This was hands down the best family vacation we have ever experienced. Having Ismael and Francesca help guide us & plan our activities, private chef, airport pickup, restaurant suggestions, spa services, etc. before arriving, and while there if needed, made for a most relaxing vacation ever. It was like we had our own concierge/travel agent without the extra costs. This home is incredibly clean & beautiful; in the midst of the jungle, yet a short walk from the beach. Enjoying the pool and all our fun "jungle friends" surrounding us each day was magical! We cannot wait to return to this home to create even more memories!! Thank you all so very much for your amazing hospitality!!

Paradise!

This property is like your own personal resort except you have amazing privacy. Such detail and care taken with the design of the home and landscaping to be the perfect jungle paradise. It is like staying in a treehouse but with comfort! We were up early each morning to see all the animals. We walked to the beach and restaurants most days but also used Ismael’s suggested drivers to cart us back and forth when needed. Ismael is really what makes this property stand out from any other we have been to. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and he made everything easy! He helped with everything from transport, best restaurants, excursions and local tips. This was the perfect vacation!

Absolutely the best place we have EVER stayed!!

I wish I could even begin to express how amazing this jungle roost is! We have just spent that last 7 days is pure paradise! This home is literally nestled in the jungle. The home is absolutely breathtaking. Very clean and spacious! We were welcomed by a giant sloth right in the tree next to the house. Monkeys every morning and night. But one of the the best things was the owners, Francesca and Ismael. They made sure absolutely everything was perfect for our trip. They scheduled everything and took absolutely the best care of us. We will be booking our return before we leave.

Absolutely amazing!

Our stay at the Jungle Roost was beyond spectacular! The house is fabulous with an outdoor area that not only provided space for swimming and reclining, but for outdoor dining and most importantly for watching all the creatures who came to visit. We came to Costa Rica hoping to see all types of animals and boy, did we. From the anteater we saw on the first morning to the monkeys and agouti happily munching on leaves, we were entertained every day by more than one animal. As for the host, Ismael, he was also beyond spectacular. He arranged everything from transportation to private chefs to excursions including a day at a beach resort. His knowledge and helpfulness were beyond compare and he made our stay the wonderful experience it was. Ismael is extremely knowledgable about everything there is to do and was always available to answer all our questions. He basically made our stay at Jungle Roost a dream. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will always have the best memories of our trip to Costa Rica thanks to Ismael and his Jungle Roost.

Manuel Antonio Must Stay Property!! Wow!!!

First off…. Francesca is AMAZING. Hotel concierges can be helpful, sure…. But Francesca was downright indispensable. Every crazy plan we dreamed up she was able to make happen. But even better she has hidden gems that we would have never found in a guide book because she is connected all over town. This was our 7th trip to Manuel Antonio and one of the best because we saw and did things we didn’t know were even available! The property is beautiful, nestled into a hill and even though there are neighbors the sight lines are all blocked so we had plenty of privacy. The kitchen wa adequately stocked with dishes and such (we are our most of the time). The AC blew nice and cold. The beds were firm but we liked that! Great linens! Overall just a FANTASTIC stay. Thank you Francesca we will be back!

Magical

When it asked me to rate the accuracy of the online listing, I wanted to put less stars. Why? It’s not accurate! It surpasses how the listing describes it, if you can imagine that?! This place was even more beautiful than we were anticipating. We would have stayed much longer if it were available. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The ANIMALS!!! On my goodness we were beyond pleased! That is the whole reason we picked this place and we were not disappointed ! We saw two types of monkeys, sloths, macaws, blue morph butterflies and much more! We didn’t even need to leave the house to see these! We came for the animals, but above all things our most favorite was meeting Ismael. He is definitely a super host and the most genuine person. We are so grateful for this trip and his kindness. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for everything! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Family Get away in Manuel Antonio

We really loved the house and the pool. We swam in the pool during the sunny times and rainy times. It's always nice and warm. We saw howler and squirrel monkeys, lots of birds, and lizards from the home. The home is very private and unless you are on a balcony on one side of home, it's completely hidden from neighbors and the road. Ismael was very helpful in providing us guidance to find the home and had lots of recommendations for restaurants. The house is nice and cool inside and looks much nicer in pictures than in photos. It has nice separation between bedrooms and each floor has a bathroom. We loved the outdoor and indoor kitchen, were very thankful to have washer and dryer, and appreciated how close the house was to little grocery stores. The home is just a few minutes drive to the beach and easy to find parking there . After our stay, I reached out to Ismael b/c our daughter had an ear infection. He helped us with finding the right medical facility to get treatment for her. That was much appreciated. If you travel to Costa Rica and rent a car, you need 4 wheel drive, so I recommend that! Manuel Antonio is one of the nicer and more developed places we traveled in Costa Rica, but you still see lots of wild life.

Jungle indeed!

There is not enough time or space to explain our amazing experience at Jungle Roost, If all the 5 stars reviews don’t already sway you maybe I can. We have traveled to Costa Rica for over 20 years(4th trip to Manuel Antonio). To start Ismael and Francesca are unbelievable, every question we had, every reservation we needed, and every detail was covered. Taxi services, restaurant recommendations, private chef(Desiree, she was great), and fishing charter(we caught 6 sailfish and 2 mahi) all taken care of by Ismael. We enjoyed the top balcony with coffee and monkeys almost every morning, got to be up early though! The house and the grounds are beautiful. Perfect for our family of 4. The walk down to beach is about 1/2 mile, walk up is steep but manageable, take your time. The pool was perfection after the walk back! It took no time at all for our kids to feel at home. From the treasure chest full of games to the outside closet with pool toys, our kids had plenty to do! Oh and I can’t forget the beautiful hiking trail to the waterfall. Overall 10 out of 10!

Amazing family jungle vacation!

I have been renting Vrbo's for 15 years and this is the first time I have ever written a review. This was a last minute change to a Tulum, Mexico trip that we had to cancel and there was magically the same week at the house available for when we needed... It was meant to be. Traveling with 3 kids is hard enough, but Francesca and Ismael were so helpful with making suggestions for restaurants, activities and arranging for the covid tests for going back home. We mentioned that it was our daughter's birthday the day we were arriving and they had decorations and a delicious cake (which lasted almost the entire week) waiting for us! It was a really sweet and special gesture. And the house! It is beautiful and enough room for my family of five. The location in the middle of the jungle was great for seeing tons of monkeys, sloths, lizards and birds. We went to the Manuel Antonio national park one day and didn't see nearly as many animals as we did from the house! The beach that's accessible to the house is a bit of a rough hike, but so worth it. After our uphill hike from the beach, we just jumped in the pool to cool off. Definitely rent a 4x4, the driveway down to the house is super steep, as are a lot of roads in the area so you will need it. We hope to come back to visit again!

An amazing authentic Costa Rican hideaway

There are not enough kind words to describe this property or it's hosts. The property is exactly as pictured with beautiful gardens and wildlife outside every window. We saw many different monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, agoutis, iguanas, and a mom and baby sloth without ever leaving the property. The location was perfect. A 10 minute walk to the beach (some athletic ability required) or 15 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Don't want to leave, no problem. The grocer up the road will deliver almost anything you need for a 2 dollar fee. Francesca and Ismael were available to answer any of our questions as well as guide us to the best deals/experiences for excursions and even Covid testing required to leave the country. We had massages from Hollis Spa on the terrace that were amazing as well as an amazing zip line experience that were all orchestrated by the amazing hosts. We used Desiree as our chef for the majority of the trip and will NEVER pass on this luxury ever again. Desiree cooked a variety of seafood we requested and even accommodated a gluten free guest for every meal. Though we left the property to zip line and run on the beach often there is absolutely no reason to. My 8 year old particularly adored the swing in the back yard as well as the amazing pool. The views are plentiful, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked. We will certainly be returning.
