City break stayed.

Booked for my husband's birthday. Before we went, we had several texts from the hotel asking us to cancel with Expedia and rebook directly. I didn't, as we had used vouchers with Expedia, and I would have lost money, and also I didn't like the way they were trying to pressure me to do this. On arrival, we were asked to provide ID and a bank card for a £100 pre-payment. I don't carry cards anymore, and this resulted in quite a heated exchange with the manager as she would not budge on this and in the end, took a £200 payment from my bank via my phone. I was upset by this as it left me short of money for the planned birthday expenses. She said we should have had an email explaining their terms, but I hadn't received this. When I checked my emails later, the email she mentioned only arrived after 6pm, so I would never have seen it before we left in the morning. It really felt like the £200 was a punishment for not bringing a bank card. This soured our initial visit, but for the rest of the stay, we didn't see the manager again, so we tried to relax and enjoy things. Ozzy was welcoming and provided great customer service. The breakfast trays were ok, but the drinks were tepid by the time they reached us on the top floor. The 'free' drinks and nibbles are only between 7-9, so if you go out for the evening, you don't get them, so all in all the treats offered felt a tad gimmicky in the end. The room was tiny and the bathroom even more so. Overall it was ok but not for us.

We visit Manchester regularly to visit our daughter. Perfect small, boutique hotel to be based in the city centre. Staff all lovely and so helpful. Great bars, restaurants and shops on your doorstep.

Lovely hotel and really nice decor. There was complementary Prosecco, milk and cookies for supper and breakfast brought to the room, they really go the extra mile for guests. I don’t usually leave reviews but I couldn’t not leave a review.

Great base for going out to socialise. The rooms on the lower ground were subject to a lot of external noise, particularly with it being the weekend. Water in the shower was cold on arrival. In fairness the staff responded promptly and resolved it but the following the same happened again. We requested 1 gluten free breakfast due to my wifes gluten allergy but what was provided was not what we ordered.

Fantastic hotel, great location, unbelievable price for the quality of service and room. Infact it wasnt just a hotel, it was an experience in how hotels should be.

The look of the hotel was great, lots of nice touches, great decor and style, cookies at night and prosecco in the evening, lovely bathroom, breakfast in bed was a nice touch but the room was small so there was nowhere to even put the tray for breakfast and as we were in the basement the room was uncomfortably damp so you woke up feeling cold and clammy as the sheets felt damp to the touch. Staff were apologetic and understanding but could do nothing to solve the problem.

Lovely restored building, very quirky. Lacks storage space but if you’re only there for 1 or 2 nights this is unlikely to be an issue. Extremely comfortable beds. We experienced some outside noise very early in the morning (shouting & smashing bottles) but this wouldn’t deter me from booking again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Funky hotel med rustik indretning i gammel fabriksbygning. Mørkt men hyggeligt værelse. Super service med lækker morgenmad, kaffe og bobler der serveres på værelset. Eneste minus er larm fra bar udenfor hvis man har åbent vindue.

Lovely little hotel, nestled in the heart of Manchester. Staff could not do enough to help, nothing was too much. It was a really pleasant stay, me and the wife will certainly stop here again next time we're in Manchester.

Excellent

A great stay in a fab hotel. Room and service excellent and a great location - not too far from the station. Will definitely be our go to place place to stay in Manchester and we will recommend to others too.
