We were placed here after having our other accommodation cancelled whilst we were travelling there!!
We were placed here after having our other accommodation cancelled whilst we were travelling there!! The house itself is amazing really nicely decorated and great they could accept us last minute and we totally understood the later check in so they could have it ready for us and we had to travel slightly further for it. Kitchen had everything you could need or want. A few extra pizza trays would be great as if you are staying as a large booking like we were we had to cook four pizzas one after the other which took over an hour to all have a meal which we couldn’t do together. The rising sun pub and restaurant about 1.5 miles down the road is fab! Great pub garden and play area in it, hard to walk to though as there isn’t pavements, only thin grass verges and the road to walk on so you would need to car it mostly. Locality is near lots of things, we visited hurst castle, Stonehenge, Bournemouth, Highcliffe castle and also drove slightly further to do a prebooked day at Legoland. Bedrooms fit us all comfortably, bathrooms were spacious, shower is slightly clumsy and you have to be very careful using it. Feel it needs some TVs in the bedrooms for evening time when everyone doesn’t want to watch the same thing, and the WiFi can be slightly intermittent. We used the smart tv downstairs but it did buffer quite a lotOverall we had a great stay, and would like to stay again in the future
Danehurst Cottage was a delightful family home to base our week in the area. Spacious, characterful, lovely safe garden for the children, with a great play slide/climbing frame. The kitchen was well equipped. Little touches like toy box, children’s table and chairs, welcome Prosecco, made it feel homely. Quiet secluded location, not overlooked. Dogs enjoyed the garden as well as the children. We’d love to come back.
Lovely cottage in great location. Very comfortable and well equipped. Eva was easily contactable and helpful. Overall we had a lovely weekend and enjoyed our stay.My main criticism was communication with Cottages.com. My booking was through VRBO but I had to call to pay Cottages.com separately which felt like a scam as I’d already entered my card details and had the booking confirmation only to receive another message a few days later saying I hadn’t paid!. They also failed to communicate effectively via the VRBO inbox and I just kept getting AI generated responses saying I was using the wrong email. It was confusing and needs to be sorted as it would put me off booking anything managed by Cottages.com in future. There was a leak from the conservatory roof when we arrived which needs fixing as we had to use buckets.
Really comfortable property in beautiful quiet location. Very thoughtful hosts who gave us a lovely welcome pack and are clearly very thoughtful about their guests
