Seaside residence in Tuscany with swimming pool, within a natural park,

"Gianfranco was an excellent host. He and his lovely daughter told us all about places to visit in the surrounding area and helped us with things like getting a taxi. The apartment had water and a bottle of wine in the fridge, as well as pasta ingredients. It was a nice gesture that made us feel welcome. The apartment was just the right size for our family. Waste sorting was also well organized. The pool area was very beautiful, and you could buy food and drinks there. There was a nice free beach right next to it. It was wonderful to watch the sunset on the beach. All the amenities (bakery, grocery store, café, restaurants, ice cream shop, trampolines) were right near the apartment. The bus to Livorno and Pisa stopped right next to the apartment. Thank you so much—we’ll be back :)"

"This hotel has the best bedrooms I’ve ever stayed in a hotel. They were huge with every facility required, fridge, hairdryer, toiletries etc. The reception and restaurant staff at the hotel were brilliant, friendly, helpful and attentive. We ate evening meal a couple of times and the food is really good and good value. Could not fault the place."

"Room was clean and exactly as listed. A couple of small issues. We stayed late sep early oct, it was getting cold at night. No heat on in building or towel rack radiator. The hot water was only luke warm except in the shower. This gave the impression that the host was too hard up to pay the energy bills."

"I wasn't sure what to expect having read some very mixed reviews. The one bedroom apartment was bigger than l thought it would be, the large queen bed comfortable, as was the sofa bed, with the kitchen adequately stocked. I had brought my own washing up liquid, dishcloth and soap, having read some reviews about the lack of such essentials. If l were being picky, I would say the availability of a toaster and a kettle (for all the tea drinkers!) and additional cups etc would improve many of the poor reviews. Alessandra at Reception was very courteous and helpful with answering any questions, but the Continental Resort website could definitely use some updating in terms of photos and information provided, e.g. on using the pool and what services are on offer at the beach, for prospective guests. The email address link provided on the site was incorrect (.ita instead of .it) which was needlessly frustrating. Overall, the pool area is clean with toilets and showers, and well-maintained. The beach area too is well-maintained, perhaps a little strict in curtailing which deckchairs can be used, especially at the end of season or the weather is bad and there are very few guests around, with low demand for beach services. Overall, though l was pleasantly surprised by Continental Resort and will definitely return! Tirrenia is a great location, not only for a beach getaway, but also in its vicinity to Pisa Airport and Train Station, as a base for further travel. "
