"We had an awesome time at Lake Placid. The house is beautiful and everything was perfect. I'm now hooked on pour over coffee, which we enjoyed every morning. It is so serene and beautiful. The lake is part of a chain of lakes so we spent a lot of time exploring the channels that lead to other lakes. We saw deer, loons, otters, and heard multiple species of birds. Although we never used the sauna, it looked awesome. Dave had wood all set up to just light for the first fire. Don't hesitate to book this house. You will not regret it."

"We stayed at the Hideaway with a family group that ranged in age from 1 - 72. There was something for everyone at this venue. The teens enjoyed the pool table and tubing, fishing, swimming and skiing on the lake. The little ones were able to get into the lake on a shallow beach on the property. The adults used the kayak, played card games and put together a jigsaw puzzle. Gus, our little dog, loved playing fetch and cavorting through the woods. The property was lovely, well-maintained and family-friendly. We would not hesitate to stay there again."

"The lodge is eclectically decorated just like the old Famous Dave’s. One never lacks for something interesting to look at. It’s very clean and spacious with everything you’d need in the kitchen. The host is very responsive and nice. The pontoon was excellent. Just wish there was more of a lake view for the price. You get a slice of view by the lovely fire pit. The landscaping and seating behind the lodge is also relaxing. All in all, a very nice place for a large family gathering. We had a great time."
