I have a love of historical restorations, so we decided to opt for stay here instead of traditional hotel digs in Louisville. Overall feeling was one of hominess and livability. Far more inviting than photos would lead one to believe. Depending on relationship, gender, and temperament of your group, careful consideration should be given to sharing of facilities. Upstairs two bedrooms will share a bath. Downstairs bedroom has a lovely larger bath with solid door (and a heater!), but sleeping area itself is separated from the living room by a curtain -- no "solid" barrier between bedroom and living area. Depending on event and relationships, most will find this perfectly suitable. For less friendly (read: "professional" gatherings of people, one might consider carefully and judge whether this layout suits your occasion. For a gathering of friends, or friends that work together -- you will LOVE it.
Extra half-bath off living area is extremely convenient and useful - a gives the rear downstairs sleeping area a little more privacy. One note for elderly or those with mobility issues, the staircase leading to the two upstairs bedrooms and kitchen area is long (17 stairs if I remember right), steep and .... historical. Might present a problem for some, but was fine for us. But use care.
Overall, property was perfect for our needs, lovely, interesting and memorable. Our experience there was wonderful - home contributed to communication and openness that promoted new ideas and improved relationships. There were compromises, but they actually played into our objectives. Property management was always available, helpful, informative and never intrusive. We would heartily recommend this lovely old carriage house. My favorite spot? Definitely the white leather sofa and ottoman in the kitchen.
Once you park by the curb, not much reason to get back in the car. Almost anything you could want is within a few blocks - walking in this neighborhood is a fun and friendly experience.
