A private retreat for families and friends designed explicitly to chillout and unwind! It makes a great stay for a family or 8 persons.

High spec facilities set in 1 acre of lawns and trees with fruit and nut trees; space for outside games. It also has swimming pool, which is great to cool off on a hot summer day.

  • This will ever be known as the chateau of Josephine Baker. She had been a singer of international renown with an extraordinary career. Born in the States in 1906, she emigrated to France and became a citizen in 1937 when she married a Jew, but not before knowing the street life in America where she’d had to sleep in cardboard shelters and scavenge in garbage bins. For ten years she was the lead in the Folies Bergeres, and admired by all who saw her. Shirley Bassey once said, “I swear in all my life I have never seen, and probably never shall see again, such a spectacular singer and performer." During WWII She won the Croix de Guerre for her work with the French Resistance. When the Germans invaded France she moved to the chateau where she helped Belgian refugees and ultimately adopted 12 children. She was the first Afro-American to star in a major motion picture (Zouzou) and was the only female speaker in the civil rights march to Washington with Martin Luther King and was offered the lead in the movement when he was assassinated but she declined. When the builders refurbishing the chateau sent her almost broke, Grace Kelly, a close friend, offered her accommodation on the Riviera.

Herzlichen Dank dafür, dass Du Dich während unseren Ferien so toll um den Pool gekümmert hast. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Liegenschaft hat all unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Wir haben viel Zeit im Pool, beim Tischtennis spielen und mit Billiard verbracht. Ausstattung hervorragend geeignet für Familien, auch für etwas ältere Kinder.

Rustic Rural France

Fabulous location, rural idyllic French countryside, surrounded by fields, farming land, sun flowers, maiz. Very quiet and complete escapism, wonderful. Close to two nice quaint rural villages with all amenities etc. The house is shabby chic, open plan with a great games room and cooling Aircon. Internet was intermittent but house has all mod cons and American fridge freezer. Large comfortable living and dining space in one. Pool is amazing, huge, 12 x 4,5 metres, we had great fun and exercise during the stay. One concern is that we have stayed in France 🇫🇷 many times and the pool normally has circulating water on and off, which this pool didn’t. Relied more on chlorine tablets which could be a H&S concern. Rooms spacious, the beds had cheap mattresses which could do with replacing to aid comfort at night. All in all a wonderful time and memory, would recommend a stay here. Luxury holiday in rural 🇫🇷
